Talking Of Weight Watchers

Someone else has also put a lot of weight on in a month. Isla is rounder than she's ever been under that coat. The worry of one fat cat is enough, and as the one who controls and provides the food it's down to me now to make sure Isla doesn't get overweight. It's so much easier with dogs isn't it. Cut their food down by a third and walk them further. I can cut Isla's food down, I can also put the leftovers that she grazes on away, but I can't insist she goes out!
We all know that being overweight shortens life spans, it's drummed into us enough. But research proves that even being moderately overweight reduces a cat's life expectancy. In cats, a 2.8-fold increase in mortality has been shown in obese cats (8-12 years old) compared to lean cats. That scares me so much especially where Jamie is concerned, but I swear he's doesn't eat as much as the others, if he did it would be easy to fix.  Sadly it seems to be who he is. Like I said if he was a dog it would be so much easier.
"It was always accepted that heavy dogs lived a shorter lifespan than lean dogs, usually by 6-12 months. But a large, lifetime study has found that being even moderately overweight can reduce a dog's life expectancy by nearly two years compared to their leaner counterparts." Now who would want to do that to their dogs? Over feeding is simply killing with kindness. Cut down the treats, stop adding the crap and reduce the food, and Mr S stop giving her your leftovers ... Sorry Jezi I know your only a couple of KG over weight but in your best interest it's happening!
