What A Week

The silence has been deafening, but I swear I just didn't have the mental capacity to write!  Tuesday morning could have been so different, we should have been driving to Aldi in Porthmadog and going to see mum, but she had a bad cold and I decided to go it alone and just do Tesco in Caernarfon. I came home to find Steve with severe chest pains and we rang for an ambulance. Two hours later they arrived, did and ECG and found some abnormality in the reading. They told him they would take him to Ysbyty Gwynedd. The 2nd ECG, the one they did in the ambulance was concerning and plans were changed, he was taken straight on blue lights to Glan Clwyd where they were waiting for him and he had surgery straight away. There was significant damage to his heart and they fitted one stent to make him safe as he really was on borrowed time by then.
One surgeon had said he wanted to do the other stent in 2-3 days, the other wanted to leave it 6 -8 weeks. Two different opinions. One said the heart needed time to heal before a second procedure, the other said he was too unstable not to do it now. Anyway on Thursday he had two more stents fitted and the original was adjusted as basically it had been put in in an emergency situation just to save his life.
Steve is home, he will take time to heal, a long slow road but we'll walk it together .... yes this week could have been very different.
Orin in the photo, making sure Steve doesn't go AWOL again.
