Justice?

Award-winning Spalding dog breeder left seven pooches to wallow in own excrement.
My photo of baby Tabu - June 2019

"Seven dogs were left without food and water to wallow in their own excrement by a Spalding man who has been given a 10-year banning order on owning dogs. These offences were causing unnecessary suffering to three dogs by failing to provide adequate or effective professional veterinary care and attention for their chronic skin disorders, causing unnecessary suffering to seven dogs by again failing with attention and vet care for their conjunctivitis eye infections, failing to provide a suitable living environment for seven dogs, and failing to protect from pain, suffering, injury or disease. He was disqualified from keeping dogs for ten years and fined £1,000 and £300 costs, as well as being ordered to pay £100 victim surcharge."
Tabu - where did it go so wrong.

Not justice in my opinion, he should have had a lifetime ban, a more sufficient fine or even a sentence. Jimmy wasn't a friend, but we mixed in the same circles, we chatted, we exchanged pleasantries and until it blew up with the Afghans most of us were blissfully unaware of his abuse. Now let's not pretend we hadn't heard mutterings over the years, let's not pretend he was a guy you could warm too. But the dogs at the shows always looked in top condition, there was no reason to believe any rumours, little did we know. There was always something about him that made me uncomfortable, a blank stare that went through me, but I kind of thought it was me, now of course I know it wasn't. I knew these dogs, for example, Champion Arco was the same age as Nico, Viviana was bred by Angela and Tabu a Zalu son was just a baby. I wish them all the best now, those young enough to rehome will hopefully have a lovely future .. and the oldies will hopefully live out their days in comfort and care. Hopefully we'll never have to see Jimmy again!
