Coats Coming Out

Siska is really chucking her coat now, but as she's very heavily coated, there is quite a way to go. She usually gets her coat back before she comes in season, so that gives me, maybe 6 weeks minimum, but even over 2 months to bring her to 8 months from her previous season. I think it'll be October at the earliest, but I honestly don't know as she doesn't have a consistency to her timing. Well, she mainly goes 7.5 - 8 months, but not always!
When Kaiah was mated on the 8th of November, the puppies arrived on the 7th of January ... only the snow during whelping caused us difficulties that year. By the time the L Litter were out and about, it was February, and we had some lovely days outside with them. So if Siska did hang on till the end of October to come in season, well that would suite me.
Ziva was mated around the 21st of October 2013, and the babies arrived on the 23rd of December. I really would prefer not to have a litter due so close to Christmas day again .. a week before would be fine  ... or even between Xmas and New Year, but preferably not over the New Year Holiday period. Xmas day is on Thursday this year, so the Vets would be closed Wednesday afternoon till Saturday Morning, and I presume over New Year till the Friday morning. Please Siska get the timing right for me! LOL
I had decided on a stud dog, but I've changed my mind ... and decided on another one. With so much time to think, and rethink, I'll probably change my mind again! One thing that is in the forefront of my mind this time is, that my favourite dog may not be constructionally, or on paper, the right dog for Siska.  Picking the dog to suite the female is not the same as picking the show dog. Temperament first, as always, then lets hope the rest falls into place!
