It's been too hot to walk today, Steve and I went to Tesco to do our weekly shop, but OMG I nearly passed out at the bill, even with the discount card and the price match items it was at least £50 dearer than my average weekly bill at Aldi. I forgot to take my everyday glasses and had to walk around the shop in my tinted ones, continually asking Steve the dates and details. I have an eye test on Thursday, I would imagine that my double vision has changed again as I'm finding I have a stiff neck again which I presume is from tilting my head to see one of everything!!!!
Mum had her MRI yesterday and today the musculoskeletal specialist rang with the results. Thankfully there is nothing sinister going on, old age changes to the spine, which is severe in one level. The pain relief will not benefit much as there is compression in the spinal column. She's had a referral to a surgeon to discuss the possibility of an operation. In some cases this could be minor in other cases major but needs to be considered as mum is otherwise well. I asked about steroid injections, but she explained that pain relief would not really be helpful, she said imagine there was a brick on your finger, painkillers would not help, the only was too easy the pain is to move the brick ... easy for anyone to understand.
We've had good news regarding Steve's cancer, the levels haven't increased in 12 months .. the PSA still being 0.1. At least something is working in our way. Next week he has an appointment with the falls team, and next month a bone density scan which is in Llandudno, getting him there will be fun, he was struggling after going round Tesco today for the first time! I've also had an appointment to go to Gwynedd Hospital about my hands, between it all it's going to be fun!
