With amazing blue skies, warm sunshine and no wind I imagined I would be sharing the mountain with every Sais, Cofi and his dog today. The now small parking area at the bottom of the hill was full and as I drove up I saw the first dog walkers ... Damn them .. Haha
I unloaded Nico and Jezi and we did our Sunday circuit .. we didn't see a soul. I went back to the van to pick up the girls to find Asha had had a major strop and pulled the towel from behind the headrest into her crate. No mean feat I would imagine, but why? She's not saying! We had a another peaceful walk and only saw the lad on the quad bike .. I wondered again if he saw my liquorice allsort impersonation the other day? I kind of hoped not!
As I drove back to pick up the last three I saw 4 people walking with one dog .. no hassle there then. Kaiah was still pigging out on grass and roots, I took more treats than normal to swap her a treat for a clump of grass. It's not new behaviour just currently exacerbated. On our way back towards the van Ross picked up a scent and considered going to investigate .. without seeing what it was I called him back, instant recall ... good boy. It was 2 people walking in the distance, far enough away not to create further interest or disruption to the walk. On the way back in the van I saw 2 more people .. WOW where were they all? Where were all the annoying Sunny Sunday walkers that frequent Fron? Even the Cofi stayed away!

Last Night
Last night was another night of tea and jaffa cakes at 1am. Damn it I hate these nights of no sleep. I have found it does help to get up for and hour or so though, I never get anywhere just lying in bed. The two youngsters were up and about but settled. Jamie was in bed, but all the other cat beds were empty!
Having been up and about so late it was no wonder I didn't hear Asha as 4am, luckily Steve did and she really needed to go out. I think maybe this is something we will have to live with with her now. Bless her it's not really a problem is it!

A Little Snow
Jezi and Nico with "Niwl" and snow on Moel Eilio behind them
Sammi, Ziva, Asha
Fascinating that only half the Nantlle Ridge has snow on it. Never seen that before
Ross forgot his sunglasses! Mind you the forecast was for high winds, torrential rain or sleet so maybe like me he didn't think he'd need them.
I fell again today, second day in a row, soft landing with plenty of padding but I do wonder if it's the pink boots to blame. They are lovely and warm, and comfy but somehow there is no strength/stability around the ankle, I seem to twist my right ankle and I'm down. Maybe I should consider the terrain of my planed walk before deciding on my footwear. I was very luck to get the boots, they are £140+ boots and they were going free but I may have to rethink where I'm wearing them. Actually I was lucky with the Barbour coat too, I got it for £30 in the height of Summer, it's so bloody warm but I guess may need some care. I'm not really that good with caring for things, I just wear them till they drop.
Don't I look wonderful - don't answer that!

Luther And Day 31
I'm not sure if Luther's behaviour after his surgery was normal, I've certainly not see it before. I know cats recover well from this minor surgery but he seemed to have the devil in him last night. He was ridiculously hyper and poor Perry got fed up of his taunting and went into hiding. He then turned his attention to Jamie, who without exerting too much energy gave as good as he got. Seemingly ready to settle he came onto my lap, but it was not the case and I was then the subject of his torment. Maybe after a full night locked in the kitchen and a day in a crate at the vets that he just had too much energy? If that is the case then one thing is for sure he could never be a house cat, he'd drive you insane!
I'm still feeling totally deflated about Kaiah. I will her to leave her breakfast, to show me something, but she doesn't. I'm trying not to be pessimistic as I know full well that bitches can surprise owners after day 35, and some even later. I got so ridiculously low about it last night that I felt such an emptiness, I would go so far as to say I felt a feeling of loss. It all stemmed from a simple question from the stud dog owner .. "Any news?" When I said no she showed concern and said that she really should be showing something by now. I looked back through my notes and during the 4th week Sammi had a discharge, pink nipples and left quite a few meals. Classic signs of early pregnancy, I swear Kaiah is showing nothing. I haven't got such detailed notes on Ziva and Asha but I know neither had any abdominal enlargements till after day 34 and of course with Sammi's three she didn't show any till about day 42, but she did show clear signs of pregnancy.
Of course I'm being pessimistic too soon, of course there is still time for her to spring a surprise on us, 4, 5 maybe even 6 days, things can change and alter so quickly. But I can't help how I feel, I can't help but think that there is nothing there. Sadly it is who I am .. and maybe, just maybe in the long run it's better for me to be prepared, to be cautious anyway. I was just so convinced on Wednesday evening that she was pregnant, so happy, honestly on cloud nine but by yesterday afternoon I felt totally the opposite .. and even the pendulum has stopped spinning!

Still No Signs
I'm feeling a tad deflated, Kaiah is still showing no signs of being pregnant. I mean there is absolutely nothing to indicate that there maybe changes within her. No changes to her nipples, no behavioural changes, she's eating normally, active and full of life ... Last night I'd got my hopes up that maybe there was a minimal change to her outline, but I think it was just wishful thinking on my behalf. I swear to god if there are no babies I will be inconsolable. I know I still have a little bit of time on my hands but as we approach day 35 and there are absolutely no changes in her then I can't help but feel disheartened.
Luther Is Home

Crazy morning, driving through floods to get to the vets with Luther .. "#ballsoffday." Back to no rain at home. Quick cuppa then dentist for me and he indoors before going on to Aldi, then back to the vets to pick up a rather unhappy young black chap. The vet was very complementary about him this morning and couldn't believe he was only just over 6 months old .. when he grows up he's going to be a panther! He's home and no surprises hes hungry. (By the way he weighed 3.6kg - I think Perry was 2.5kg when he was done)

Bye Bye Linda
Smile you two
Asha doing her usual Elvis impersonation
Now despite what you see here Linda and I measure Loki and Ross today. Ross is without doubt equal in height at the wither and taller in the back than Loki, Loki has more reach of neck and also pushes forward whilst Ross leans back in photos. You see the camera does lie!
Today was Linda's last walk with us till the Spring ... we'll miss you.
Billy no mates I'll be again then now!
