9th Of June

25 years ago - 9/6/93 - a puppy was born.
Daughter to Int Ch. Rosehurst Chris and Lledfegin Llywela. That puppy changed my life forever, she put me on this great path that I have followed . Lledfegin Camri - Nikki - a winner inside and outside the ring. Thank you with all of my heart
On the 9/6/14 a soggy eyed, snotty nosed little chap came home from Freshfields to start his life in Fron. Junior - usually referred to as R Junior, (Don't forget me R) these days took no time at all to settle and has grown into a strikingly handsome affectionate young man. I'll try and get a photo of him sometime today, he's currently asleep on the sofa and that photo would not compliment him.

Mynydd Mawr And Llyn Ffynhonnau

The beautiful Llyn Ffynhonnau (Wells Lake) sits at the foot of Mynydd Mawr. (Simply translated to Big Mountain) "The profile of Mynydd Mawr from the north is often thought to resemble an elephant lying down, and consequently the mountain is often colloquially also called "Yr Eliffant" ('The Elephant'), or "Elephant Mountain" to non-Welsh speakers." Not content with giving the mountain 2 names locally it's also often called Mynydd Grug .. Heather Mountain .. that name really being self explanatory. I have to be honest I never refer to the mountain as Elephant mountain, to me it's Mynydd Mawr and from here it looks nothing like an Elephant, but seeing it from the north I can see the correlation.
Kaiah and Ross in Llyn Ffynhonnau
Asha, Sammi, Loki and Ziva at the foot of one of the routes up "Yr Eliffant"
and no I'm not even attempting to walk up it's ankle!
Jezi and Nico in a similar spot but the photo taken at a different angle towards Waunfawr.
Coming back from the walk towards Llyn Ffynhonnau, if you enlarge the photo you can just see Ross' bottom going down the bank towards the lake. Kaiah of course is already there!

A Few Minutes In The Fields

Even I love a Summer evening - well apart from the midges - I hate them.
Just an extra run around the field last night, sheep (as in the one) is back in the top field so we are banned from there until we get round to evicting her again .

His Name Is Garron

I'm really chuffed that I got a very quick response about Sable 2, his name is Garron which is German for defender. Nice name, different. He too looks wonderful, he really was the heart-breaker. Good think Mr Poldark came to save my life ... haha

Remember Me?

Little Teddy.
The first sable baby boy that I considered buying a year ago. At the time I was advised that he was lacking substance, was plain of colour and lacking coat. My word how they change. He's now a substantial boy with super colour and has a similar coat to Ross I would say .. enough to get by. I love his black mask - I've always have been a sucker for a black headed dog, but of course I've no idea what his conformation and movement is like, but looking like that I can't imagine I'd have gone far wrong!
I still have a strange attachment towards him, and it's so lovely to see his photos and see his living a wonderful life.
Think I may message and see if there is any recent updates on sable 2
I can't remember his pet name.
Ross, on the right with his brother at the same age as puppy Teddy in the first pic.
Ross today - just a few weeks younger than Teddy in his photo

Llyn Cop

Our walks to the idyllic little lake are currently few and far between,  it depends if the cattle are around, or not! I'm never ashamed to admit  my fear of free roaming cattle, I can't believe this farmer is allowed to let them roam the villages and the surrounding areas because of some law that was written in the year dot! I hope it doesn't take a serious accident for this to change. Still there was no sign of them today so they are probably terrorising the villages of Carmel or Cilgwyn and we at least got to walk safely to the little lake.

Some Other Moments
Mr Nico just posing - as he does
 Jezi loving life
Loki's first swim - ever
But when it looked like Asha would get the toy he had to take the plunge.

Helen Put Me To Work

Having posted the other photo of Ross in stance, Helen his breeder messaged me and said she much preferred this photo of him and could I try cropping the other dog out. Yes I love it too and it has been posted online. Yes of course I could crop Chyna and Geron out, that bit is easy but to an amateur like me it's the other bits that may take more work. I'd need to get the judge to move his foot, indeed his leg I'd need to get rid of that rosette .. and those railing .. OMG getting them in-sync would be fun.
So I gave it a go ... don't look too close at the fencing!
Getting the colour right was difficult and I'm still not convinced, simply lightening it makes Ross look yellow so I had to adjust each aspect separately.
Of course being the photo was zoomed in on in the first place, and then the cropping, when opened the edited photo is not totally clear. But it was not suppose to be a photo of a single dog, typical it would be one of the better ones!
Anyway I've tried and I may try again too later

An Extra Walk

This morning I was over the moon that there was a little extra cloud cover, but quickly realised that the air was heavy and within minutes of starting my first walk I was sweating and irritable. I feel so sorry for the dogs who run from ditch to ditch to find them all empty, the disappointment so clear on their faces. So it was a short walk for everyone in such heavy conditions, but at least the sun stayed hidden until I was almost done!
This afternoon we had to go out and decided to take the young guns with us for a short walk and a paddle in Afon Seiont (River) The water was unbelievably low, but they were still over the moon to have a paddle!

Hoping For Nico Pups ..

The matings went well .. the first a slip the other two with good tie's ... one a ridiculously long tie being over an hour and fifteen minutes and smashing Dexi's record of 55 mins. The length of the tie has no baring on anything and never guarantees pregnancy. Lots of bitches get pregnant from slips, but a tie is always preferable as the fluid ejaculated pushes the sperm towards the eggs. One mating at the right time is often all that is needed but with Kira having traveled here from Bristol Nico was quite happy to give her her moneys worth. Bless him! haha
Kira is a beautiful bitch with a super character ... Here's hoping for success all round now

Been Editing Ross

I love this photo but felt it such a shame that any definition on Ross' face was lost due to the shadows. Anyway I've cropped it and edited it to try and reduce the shadows, I do think it's a little better but it was hard without loosing or enhancing too much of other colours. My first attempt was green! Anyway I'm quite happy with this one, the boy looks well, only the same negative comments apply.
