Oh Kaiah!

These guys never cease to amaze, there's always something new, shocking or funny. I'm not quite sure in which category we'd put today incident. On the walk, Orin was ahead and Siska was waiting for her mother who was taking longer than normal to go to the loo. Anyway, eventually Kaiah came running over and I caught site of something flapping between her hind legs. Was that a poo bag? Yes it was, I thought it must have been caught on her hind leg, I was wrong .. it was three quarters of the way out of her bottom! Why Kaiah, just why? I can only think that I may have used it as a treat bag and that she'd been rooting through the show bag and swallowed it treats and all ... or something!

Crufts Again

 I'm sorry, but I'm not, actually I'm too bloody proud to be sorry. Three Blanik bred dogs in the ring and all in the top three, and we mustn't forget Bella who was 4th in Veteran bitch. I just have to share these cracking photos that Bethan took - and we are still waiting for Joyal's photos to go online!

Little Miss had it on her at the beginning of the class and those on social media who don't know her worried that she was stressed and being handled harshly. Those of us who know Siska were only too pleased to see an experienced handler insisting that Siska did as she was told. Siska is wonderful, affectionate and obedient, but Siska is also strong-willed and determined. With no rules and boundaries, little miss would soon run riot. People are sometimes too quick to judge without knowing the facts!

The highlight of my day - Beautiful Orin 1st in his last yearling class. I honestly looked at the catalogue and thought that there was only one dog that could have beaten him, the lovely Derrick was second. Though I have to admit the top 5 in the class were quality dogs, for me Derrick and Orin will always go neck and neck, one day he will beat us! Orin will be in PGD at his next show, he'll now be fighting with the big guns. I'm proud to say that in age classes he's never been out of the top three. Let's keep fighting for top honours O, let's be the dog they dread seeing against them.

Can't be bad can it? Three Blaniks in the ring, a first, a second and a third and Bella was VHC in Veteran too.

Crufts has left us with mixed emotions again - I was over the moon to see Orin win his class, he looked wonderful in the hands of Sarah, but I was devastated when he was bitten in the tail in challenge. My sweet, lovely boy was so upset, I can only hope that now I'm more upset about it than he is. Siska was her usual handful in the class, she wanted to come out of the ring to mess with her mates as she'd been doing all morning. Thankfully, her handler was able to take control of her and managed to steer her to a third place in the class. Anyone who knows Siska will know that she is a determined young lady, Siska always tries to do what Siska wants. Huge well done to Bethan and Darryl on Blanik Lancelot's second place too. 

A huge thanks to friends for their support and well done to all who succeeded to be placed yesterday. I'm grateful to Sarah for her handling and for all the videos and photos of my gang, they mean the world - precious memories.

Hopefully we will have some photos of all three to share over the next few days...

Orin's Scar

Funny how sometimes I notice it more, I guess the sunlight is catching it quite a lot today. Though I have stuff to cover such scars for showing, I've never bothered. I guess I'm really lucky that is all he was left with when you look at the state of it in Oct 2020.

Vets And Crufts

Nico has been for his check-up, Beth was very happy that there was a dramatic improvement, but it is still not quite cleared up completely. He's been given another course of antibiotics just to make sure all the infection has gone. Bless him, as ever he was such a star. 

Sadly there was no special walk today after the vets as there usually is, we went straight to Tremadog, my dad is very poorly again. Dad started feeling ill on Friday and fell going to the loo overnight. Mum couldn't get him up for some time but eventually they managed to get him back to bed. Anyway he got to see an out of hours doctor and he has a chest and urine infection. They have cancelled hi chemo for this week and thankfully my brother has arrived to help for the next few days. Hopefully he will feel much better as the antibiotics kick in. 

We are at Crufts on Thursday. Not my favourite show, but still I don't want to miss the opportunity of getting Orin and Siska on the green carpet. Orin has lost buckets of coat, but being such a heavily coated dog he doesn't look too bad for it. I may wet him and blast him tomorrow to see if we can fluff out what he's got. Shame though, I would have liked him on top form to go in the big ring. Siska's in full coat, she has huge knickers and feathering, here's hoping she'll put some effort into the showing and not just snooze in her .. errr my chair!

Well Excuse Me

Orin showing off, he was so jealous he didn't get to go to training yesterday, I told him to blame the Cofi girls. He is completely out of coat, but still has more coat than Ross in full bloom. LOL Did I mention that I'm chuffed with him? haha
