Well, I didn't expect that this morning! I had been telling Steve since the summer that this frame, gateway, was no longer safe only to be reassured that "it's not going anywhere!" Well, never underestimate the power of the wind in Fron! Mind you, I was glad to hear from Ian that everything had been thrown all over their garden in Caernarfon too. Odd thing was, they didn't hear it no more than we did!
At 7am this morning Orin was howling, he also left his breakfast. I'm really unsure what's going on with Siska, but after doing some research, it's not a split season, more likely she's just a bit slow starting. I think Beti, who started later, is progressing quicker and that is confusing Orin. Anyway back to this morning, I let Zeus and Sammi out, they came in for breakfast, proving I'm not observant at that time of day, I then let Ross, Beti and Meerah out. Ross and Beti came in, "Meerah, Meerah, where are you?" I went out in my dressing gown, OMG it was cold and there was no Meerah. I called again, and she came bouncing happily from the gable end of the cottage ... "woohoo I've been down there!" But what a good girl for coming back. I trusted Orin and Siska to go out and not disappear ... they came in for breakfast ... and the realisation of where Zeus could have gone dawned on me! He always goes back out after breakfast, hell no, he'd be gone, but then I had a "cunning plan" and I tied him to the bench on the long line. Of course you know exactly where he was when I went to get him back in! I guess I've won the first battle of Winter (and it's only Autumn) but there's no doubt as the winds increase Zeus and I will have a few more run-ins! (No Bob the builder hasn't been, the second photo is from a few weeks ago!)
