I was excited to see there were no cars parked at the far end by the river in Dinas Dinlle today, and I set off with Sammi and Zeus down the path towards the sea. The raised path is pretty wide, the river running one side of it and fenced farmland the other. Within minutes of me arriving, I saw a white car pull up and park. I was still very much in sight, but she obviously didn't care and unloaded 8 dogs onto the path. Three charged full pelt towards us. I grabbed Sammi by the collar, and screamed at the dogs who stopped about 6 ft away. I screamed at her too, come on, common sense MRS, it's people like this who give dog owners/walkers a bad name. As it happened neither of my dogs reacted, but I was very uncomfortable walking along the path with 8 dogs, most of which were totally out of control, charging up and down behind me. I didn't put Sammi on the lead until I decided to turn back ... by then she was walking on the Foryd,(estuary) but one of the dogs, a spaniel kept coming up and barking. Whilst she was calling it away, it didn't listen and in the end Zeus had had enough and lunged forward .. just the once, and to be fair who could blame him!
I walked away, crossed the wooden bridge and went along the path for a short while, but honestly she ruined my walk! I considered whether I'd go back there again? Well yeah I will, I can't let people like this dictate where I walk, but my god I'll do my best to avoid her!!!
