Our Day At Crufts

This afternoon the post Crufts blues have hit hard. As usual the armchair breed experts are sticking the knife in the breed. It's funny how everyone thinks they have a right to an opinion on our beautiful breed, I'm not saying they are all incorrect, but mostly it's ignorance and lack of knowledge. A lot of them really should put their own house in order before stepping over our doorsteps!
Yesterday was a good day. We all came back to North Wales with something. Kiaan was 3rd in Yearling dog, Lucca won limit and Kai was 3rd in the same class, Mattie was 3rd in Yearling bitch.
Orin's daughters did us proud, as I've said, Beti was 2nd in her Yearling, Lyra was 4th and Mayzee 5th in Post Grad.
It was very strange to see Sarah in the ring in Beti's class with another female, but it had been my choice to book another handler in case Sarah was still with Ellie at the Junior Handling class. Ellie also did brilliantly and was 5th in her class handling a Smooth Collie. Arron has handled Beti before, and yeah she was like an explosion when she first went into the ring, but she did settle. Beti was originally pulled out 3rd, but moved up to 2nd on movement in the class. I have asked Arron if he'll handle Beti for me at WPBW in April as Sarah is not going, and Lynne will have the fun of taking both my young girls in the ring at Bolton and Sheffield.
After leaving home yesterday morning at 4.30am we arrived home just before 9pm. (Of course the Chester Services maccies stop delayed us a good 30 mins) It was a very enjoyable day, GSD's as ever in hall 2 and far away from the madness and hustle and bustle of some of the other halls. We set up our now enlarged camp in the far corner and basically stayed by our ring all day. In my opinion very honest and fair judging with a breathtakingly beautiful female taking BOB. Breeding a female like that can only be a dream for many of us, Congratulations.
