Zeus

Some super pics of Loki's brother Zeus on Facebook today.
Just had to share... (he was light blue!)

Awesome Skies And An Action Shot.

The Mist retreating over the mountain
But what is the blue light in the heather in front of me?
*****
The last 2 days have been fantastic walking weather. Could have only really been bettered with less of a bite to the breeze I guess, but we can't have everything can we! Today as I set off I could see the mist coming over the Nantlle Ridge, but everywhere else was clear bright blue skies. Within minutes the mist had descended and was circling around us, I've never seen anything like it. Honestly it moved so quickly on the breeze, the temperature dropped and everywhere was dead silent, honestly it was quite eerie. On the way back the mist cleared as quickly has it had descended, how I wish I'd taken my camera ... the phone does it's best but the quality is never as good!
Wait for me Mr Mikey ....

Some Of Nico's Kids

The most recent photos I could find from Nico's last 2 litters.
Above 3 of Kia's kids who were born in July
and below Tasha babies who are now 4 months old.
The photo of "Louis" is the most out of date, all the others have been taken within the last few days.

My Black Faced Baby

The flash didn't go off so the photo is a little dark.
I thought of editing it, but decided against it.
Sammi needs no editing - she's stunning - just stunning!

Sensitive Soul!

After all my preaching of positivity yesterday evening I felt pretty flat, and quite sensitive really. I guess some days little things people say can get to me and they escalate in my mind causing me to dwell on them and often take them out of context. Of course people don't realise what's already going on in my head, only my nearest and dearest have access to those thoughts, people mean no harm with their off the cuff remarks, how could they when they don't know?
I was dead chuffed with Loki's weight yesterday, putting on almost 8kg (17lb) in 4 weeks is really good going. He's also grown 12 ish cms (About 4.5") and he's looking a proper stocky little chap. He has bags of bone and substance his coat is coming on a treat and his tan is rich. Maybe he will be more "faded" than I'm use to with the boys, but what the hell... that's just preference and really not a problem. A month ago I could never dream he would look this good.
So what was it all about? ... well his ears of course! I put the photos that I had shared on here on Facebook as well ... and the remarks came in on more than one photo. Like I said people are not aware that I'm at my wits end worrying about these ears, they honestly mean no harm.  It's just me, I must be boring Steve to bits about them, hell I'm boring myself! I guess it's worse because I see photos of his siblings on facebook and they all have their ears up. Logically I know they will be fine, there is no reason for them not to be, it can take up to 6 months for the ears to stay up, and whilst teething there's less chance than ever of consistency!
Anyway to protect myself emotionally, yesterday I decided I will not be posting anymore photos of Loki on facebook until his ears are sorted. Maybe I'm being over sensitive, maybe tomorrow I'll feel differently .. but for now today's "ears" will be posted here ... and only here!!!!

Just to make myself feel better ... Loki at 4 months and Mikey at 4 months and a week!

Mikey, Loki and Louis

Mikey 1/11/08 (3 days short of 4 Months)
Loki 28/12/14 ( 3 days short of 4 months)

Mikey in the snow - just a few days short of 4 months - Loki Today
Though I don't have accurate information,
these of Louis were also taken in November 03,
when he was about 4 Months old old!

Loki's Four Month(ish)Weigh in ..

No pics please not till my ear comes back.
Ok just the one then!
Today the baby boy was 21.10kg and I make him just over 51cms at the wither.
At the same age Sammi was 18.40kg and 50cms.
(Mikey was 19.55kg and 52cms)
Loki is therefore only a tiny bit taller but substantially heavier than Sammi was.
It all sounds good to me!
But just to keep up the 100% record - Loki threw up again with Steve driving.
He's never thrown up when I drive and I am without doubt the fastest driver.
Off to find photos of Mikey at 4 months now ... back in no time!

Happy New Teeff Day!

Well it's only two top middle incisors, but it's a start!
Will be so pleased when those needles have gone!

Happy New Year

Better times ahead for my friends at Freshfields, sadly too late for me but I will always be thinking of you ... look after my animals for me....

Just some of the dogs that stole my heart over 12 years of working at the rescue centre. All of these dogs had issues, three were never re-homed, the 4th, Sally was re-homed with care.
Grani and Tara are no longer with us, but both stole my heart.
 RIP my beautiful girls
One eye Sally had huge baggage and was in the room when her owner committed suicide by putting herself alight! Sally was luck and re-homed after a couple of years in rescue.
Scamp - hey the main man. I 100% agree that he's not homeable. But all the staff love him and the biggest wrench of all was leaving him behind.
So moving on - a new year, new challenges.
Sadly this chapter in my life is now over.
