I've never experienced behaviour from a female towards a dying puppy like I have today. It was heartbreaking to watch her continued efforts to get him going and get him feeding. I've never seen a female lift up a dying puppy and put him back with the others before, or lift him up and place him close to her, and now after being there through all of it with him, she gets it .. and moves on to rear her threesome.
