Oh No Orin
Not sure what to do here? Just a little limp, but he's not bothered about it. I've taken the tip off it and he's now hiding his foot under his chest. lol Maybe leave it an monitor it? I have a feeling it may fall out.
Daddy's Daughter?
Two photos taken of Beti yesterday, today is a good right ear day, which no doubt you'll see evidence of later! Lol. Anyway, look at these photos - she looks so much like her father and Sammi in them. I still think this is why I was influence towards her over Polly, facially I see more of Zoe in Polly. I still don't think Abbie would have been for me, I think Ruby the L/C would have been my choice had Beti and Polly not been available. It's great to hear that Abbie has really bonded with Phoebe, Emma's daughter, but I do feel a little guilt that someone's bad luck worked in my favour!
Beti is three months on Tuesday - so here are Orin and Sammi a few days before three months too...and yes all wearing the same collar which has been passed down since Ziva. There is no point buying a new collar to be worn for such a short time, it's already on the last notch. I'm really not sure if I'll give her Kaiah's collar, somehow it would be nice, but if she eats as many as Siska did, well that would probably upset me.

Beti Writes ...
Today I only went walking with Daddy O, Mrs S said "look at your daddy Beti, isn't he just perfect!" I said yes, just to make her smile. Mrs S said after yesterdays naughtinesses that silly Siska was not allowed to come today, I think that's a good name for her "Silly Siska," though I did think she was dead funny! Mrs S said "If only Miss K was still here, she'd teach you some manners!" I never met Miss K, but Mrs S says she did the best recall, ever! Mrs S still cries for Miss K, I see her and I heard the big guys say she cries on her walks some days as she misses her so much. It sounds like she was fab. Maybe she'd like to call me Miss B? Maybe that would make her smile as my name "Beti" means "she who makes happy, she who brings happiness"
Over and out .. Beti or Miss B if you like!
I Should Have Said..
Kiri with Louis
Kiri with Oliver
Lying awake in bed again this morning my thoughts went back to Kiri Mac and yesterdays post. Did I blacken her name in my post? Well, let me clarify ... Kiri was lovely, an absolute delight. She was predictably safe with male dogs, puppies, cats, sheep, and she LOVED people. She was a confident, happy girl who to my memory only once ever showed aggression beyond her home territory, her issues were with the bitches she lived with.
March 2012 - A lovely memory now, which was painful in 2012. A very young Jezi, about 6 months old, already mixing with the wrong crowd .. lol, her beautiful grandfather Kai three weeks before he died, and a 13-year-old Kiri who was still with us and well till September of that year.

Kiri McTavish From Scotland
So what happened with Kiri? Why did it all go so badly wrong? Honestly, I don't know. Nikki was a lovely girl, she and Blade ruled the roost, but they were always fair. At the time that Kiri arrived here we had Blade, Dexi (her father) Nikki, (Dexi's mum) Seffe (Dexi's sister) Jake, (Nikki's son to Jamiroquai) and Pepsi the cross-breed. I'd had a litter from Nikki but 2 of the bitches were long coats and one was blue, so neither were what I wanted to continue my line. Dexi had been mated to a bitch in Perthshire and we got second pick of bitches - Kiri!
Having arrived home very late we put Kiri with Jake and introduced her to everyone else in the morning. Nikki did nothing wrong, but there were instant vibes, negative body language and an expression that could not be misinterpreted. As Nikki took a disliking to Kiri her son and daughter did the same .. Blade was just disinterested. Nikki stopped Kiri playing with Jake and growled if she wentanywhere near her. A few days in Dexi attacked Kiri, I don't recall who else was involved, but had Steve not thrown himself on top of the pup I think they would have killed her. It really was an awful time, but we persevered and with care things settled to a point. But Nikki never accepted her and when she was about 18 months they had an almighty fight, the older girl coming out much worse than the young fit female. As bitches hold grudges, I never tried them together again. At some point, Kiri fought with every single bitch that lived here during her time. So who knew what? Did Nikki know this female would be trouble, or did her treatment of her as a puppy cause the trouble? How you raise them (nurture them) is only part of it, a huge part is about who they are, (their nature). Nature vs. Nurture. What did Nikki know? After all she went on to love Seffe's daughter Krizzie ... and Krizzie's own litters. (the E and F litter) We'll never know what went wrong, but I'm sure you'll understand our utmost care in bringing another bitch into the pack.
The second photo is a group photo from 2000, The girls lying down -Nikki, Seffe, Kiri. The boys sitting, Blade, Dexi and Jake.
A Chaotic Toddle
Beti's first walk with Orin and Siska didn't go quite as planned. Now I'm not complaining, I know too well what it's like when a puppy is not accepted into a pack. Nikki and Dexi made it clear that Dexi's daughter Kiri was not a welcome incomer all those years ago. Though Dexi mellowed to the idea as Kiri got older, Nikki alongside daughter Seffe developed a mutual hatred of Kiri!
I've previously only taken Beti out with the older pack, but she will eventually be joining her father and Siska on walks, so I thought I'd start with a short walk for them together today. Orin and Siska had done their walk when I took Beti out to join them. From the moment she hit the floor Siska lost the plot, she forgot all her basic training, including her name, she was ridiculously overexcited and ended up having to be on the lead. Even walking next to each other the girls messed about ... and it got even worse when Orin play bowed in front of them and encouraged them to run off with him. I was extremely stressed, Beti was muddy and soggy, but I guess they had a good time. It's only the size difference that concerns me, and Siska does seem oblivious to it.
At least we got a decent photo of a mucky pup and the looney carers!
Beti having 2 mins on her own and bracing what was left of Agnes this morning!
Three Walks
Is he admiring his reflection? Looks like it, but I guess when you are this handsome you have every right to be vain!

Spending Spree
My spending spree is over and almost everything has arrived. To try and stop Agnes from pinching the shed we collected 10 bags of dog food from Wynnstay on Monday, but the front of the shed was still bouncing off the floor during the height of the storm. The gate into the yard has been pulled off the wall again, but thankfully other than that all is well on the hill.
I'd ordered new throws, vet beds, 2 x 12.5kg boxes of bonios, 48 tins of whiskas, 100 hooves for us, (and 100 for Ian) 2 new kongs for you know who, and of course the freebies that come with Zooplus orders.
The vet beds which were due to arrive on Thursday arrived on Tuesday, I ordered 6 pieces 1x1.5 meters, and they arrived in two huge boxes, bit enough to transport a body in, lol. When I went to open them I realised this was not quite what I ordered, I checked again, yes 6 pieces 1x1.5 meters. I have received two rolls .. wow. Yesterday we went to cut one of them and got 5 large pieces out of it ... OK probably not 1 x 1.5 but big enough for using in the living room. I'm really chuffed and we won't need vet beds for a long time now!
Whilst we were in Specsavers yesterday morning I had call from a delivery driver, he was outside the house with two huge boxes, I told him to put them in the van, by the time we got home it was too windy to try and move it, so the cat food, bonios and kongs was left in the van. The hooves had only been ordered the night before, I did not expect them for days, but at around 4.30pm Steve in his wisdom decided to go and check the mail box. When he didn't return within 5 mins I got concerned and went out, the boxes of hooves had been left by the top gate, no call, no hoot of a horn, the boxes had been bashed and were scattered all over the mountain and the bags of hooves had split, no we were not amused. They may not be dramatically expensive, but they could have been! There's only the throws to come .. and now the bank is empty!

Yesterday's Adventures
Yesterday we were back at mum's before shopping. Beti gets so excited now when she seems mum, and my mother, not being a doggy person, is not sure how to deal with the enthusiasm. She's also very house proud and concerned about muddy paw prints and crumbs etc. I do my best to keep her in check, (Beti not my Mother) but it is a full time job.
Kevin came to visit in the afternoon. We first met him when he used Nico at stud, must have been 2014. He's such a lovely guy, and he loved Bet's enthusiasm.
I guess with the wind already picking up and storm forecast this afternoon we'll be staying home today!

Neo And Nova
Luna's two in Windsor - Neo is 16.5kg Nova 14.5kg - 11.5 weeks. Yes huge pups, but they will level out!
Neo is flying the nest on Monday. The breeder really wants to hang on to both pups, but she is doing what's best for both and her other dogs.
Belly Update
I think Beti's belly is better. She slept till 7am anyway. Apart from the scrambled egg she only ate one meal yesterday, but she was her usually naughty self. I do think she's a little itchy since the vaccination, and the wormer has possibly upset her belly. Anyway, she had a half size breakfast and ate it all but we'll go easy on her food today.
Those ears are quite funny aren't they, her sisters all have them up, trust me to have the puppy with the ear malfunction - no I'm not worried!

Wynnstay And Coat
Today we had a mooch around Wynnstay and picked up 10 bags of adult food, and a bag for Beti of course!
Wow look at the coat change, the usual circle on the tail and the line down the spine. I'm sure she's earlier than the average getting this change. Last night she got me up twice, she hasn't got diarrhoea but shall we say sloppy, I wonder what she's eaten to cause that? She is off her food today, but hopefully her belly will be settled tomorrow.

12 Weeks Tomorrow
It was a lot easier to weigh Beti at Pets At Home today than try on the scales at home tomorrow. We may as well say her 12 week weigh in is 10.5kg - ideal, I think. Siska was 9.2kg. Beti was confident and happy at Pets At Home, she greeted some people with great enthusiasm, others with a little more caution but not nervousness, I wonder why? The weather is just awful today, so I guess it was the best place to take her. I'm well aware that the socialising clock is ticking, time is running out, but so far all is well in Beti's word!
Oh yeah ... and her name is Beti, not Bet. Like Sammi is Sammi and not Sam. Some names I don't mind shortening or changing - Orin -"O" - Siska - "Sisks", but Beti must always be Beti!
Beti's day
First time off the lead with the gang, only for 5 mins, and after Ross had calmed down!
She was glued to Sammi and had no interest in the boys
Setting up for training in the afternoon, the tape rattling in the wind was not a problem

Dogs In The Fields
I feel so guilty for not walking the dogs, thank god we have these fields, at least they get to go out, they do have a good time, but it's not what we are used to. It's not good for them, or me .. my weight loss is at a full stop since I stopped walking. First it was covid and it's after effects, then Steve had his soaring blood pressure, my sciatica, the van was ill and now I think I have a pulled muscle in my neck or shoulder, whatever it is it's bloody painful and there is no way I can hold one 40kg dog on the end of a lead, let alone three! I really am falling apart, or someone is very busy with the voodoo doll! lol
Blanik Liszka
Is this the best photo of Siska yet?
Well, if it's not, it's a damn site close - I absolutely love it. She looks stunning with her glamorous coat, and she'd stood perfectly. WOW
Thank you everyone

Some Photos
So now I've realised what the problem is with this laptop. I can't edit the photos, it has a complete meltdown. Anyway it's better than nothing and warms up my lap beautifully as it overheats! lol
Look at that sky in todays pics - wow

Training In Pentrefelin
It was a case of either sending the laptop off to be mended or throwing it out of the window - I opted for common sense! This old one does OK but there were some issues with posting photos. Anyway, a quick update ... Yesterday morning Beti visited Mum's again, and yesterday evening she went to Pentrefelin for Ring Craft. Her first night actually doing more than watching and she did really well. Like her sister Polly there are still some issues being stroked over the top of the head, but we understand, and sprats sure did help!
Anyway, if the photos don't post then I'll add them later in the week.
Woohooo - that worked!

11 Weeks And Trip To The Vets
Baby Beti did well at the vets, with a sprat stuck in her gob she barely noticed the vaccination. Of course we insisted no L4 - but the vet was OK about that and she reminded me that as she was now 11 weeks there was no need for a second jab! lol
Beti weighed 9.5kg today - Ok I think, Siska was 8kg.
Just love this photo
