Stunning day to walk, we went past the boat quarry and tunnel again. This week on a Facebook page started by the older generation who live/have lived in the village I was finally told the name of the derelict cottage which we have always referred to as Auntie Cottage. It is/was called Bryn Derwen - Oak's Hill is the translation. It means a lot to find out really as I think a lot about whom, what, when and why as I walk through what I guess was the footpath in front of the cottage.
