Bye Bye MYKC

Today saw the launch of the long awaited Kennel Club website. MYKC has been a section of the website that for breeder is invaluable. Every registered dog and their details were listed on it. All the health tests results were available for all to see,  it even gave a list of the health tests of the progeny of sire or dam so you can see how well they were producing. What better way of checking that a dog is producing health offspring than to check the results of his/her progeny? Should you wish to you could check the Inbreeding Coefficient of any planned matings. MYKC really was a fantastic tool for the hobby breeder. We all did think, if it ain't broke ...
Well what a disaster, hopefully missing dogs, dogs registered as bitches and dates of birth registered as 01/01/0001 are teething problems. But where have the pedigree's gone? Now only the parents show. Where is the tool to check a stud dogs progeny's health test? Well I'm not the only one who can't find it. So many missing features that that helped us check out  prospective partners. I always checked the details/health check of the stud dogs I was interested in and the bitches coming to Nico, now what do we do? Is this progress? I think not, I think it's a huge backward step for responsible breeding!
