We'd never had a new sofa, we'd only ever had second hand three piece suites and later three seaters sofas and recliner chairs. In Jan 2019 a family member gave us a cash gift which was enough to buy a new sofa. In the January sale and from the top shop in Porthmadog we got a a lovely looking 2 seater sofa bed. (Having only one bedroom we thought it was a damn good idea) Sad maybe to some but it was a big deal and I was over the moon ... till I started using it ... it's without doubt hideously uncomfortable. After sitting in it for less than an hour my back, neck, hips and legs are aching, as you can imagine Steve can't sit on it at all. We tried buying a thick foam pad to go under the cushions, but really it hasn't helped, I've never experienced anything that's so uncomfortable to sit on .. on a plus side it's great to sleep on!
Steve's reclined has now died and we have been scanning the sale sites on Facebook daily. Steve found a lovely 3 piece suite and we organised to have it delivered. The owner had gone into a care home and her son was selling it. I was gutted - The sofa wouldn't come in through the cottage door ... so they took it away. Of course in the mean time to prepare for it we'd thrown the broken recliner out into the rain .. so now we have the most uncomfortable sofa in the world and one chair .... as pathetic as that may seem to people without animals there is just not enough space for us all to sit!
