I don't feed raw, I don't have a problem with it at all but it's just not practical for us. Still every now and again the dogs do get marrow bones. When puppies are growing and teeth and ears are annoying I'm only too happy to try anything that is safe to help them and us. (Yes chewing helps ear muscles too) I don't think Orin is teething yet but he's so bitey that I'm thinking of sending him back! haha. Anyway when offered a fresh marrow bone Orin and I decided it was a lovely idea and we accepted. 😀Previously I have had possessive issues with puppies with bones, it's another important situation to manage correctly. Puppies, indeed dogs should always associate hands with kindness and love, hands should always provide never take away. To get the bone from him, I swapped it for something tasty, then I gave it back to him .. and we did it again. Good boy Orin.
Orin is now starting to enjoy some sardines in tomato sauce in his food as well. These get some, 2 or 3 times a week... but only as a treat really. As is always the case with him it doesn't touch the sides!
