Plain Jane?

It seems I'm in trouble with the "Jezi Fan Club!"  They have come out to defend her. Listen it's not just about colour, (Glamour) that is of secondary importance, it's just the icing on a good cake! But the cake needs to be made well in the first place. She is my bitch, I bred her, I love her so I can say it as I see it. When viewed from the front she is narrow, when viewed from the side her upper arm is steep and she has limited turn of stifle in the hindquarters. She is balanced .. yes .. but made as she is she doesn't move like her mother and sister, she moves well but not as well as she would if she had better angles. Her sister simply is constructionaly better than her.
The icing on that well made cake is coat and colour .. we know from campaigning Ross that a lack of coat goes against them .. and poor Asha has been overlooked too many times for being pale in colour. Jezi has been shown, and pretty successfully really, she was Best Bitch at NWGSD two years in a row, but judges who are willing to overlook her plain colour are sadly few and far between.
So Jezi will continue to stay at home and enjoy her life, it's an expensive game to play, especially when you know you have little chance of being in cards. We have to know our dogs limitations, some are just not made for the show ring, but it doesn't mean we can't still give them the best of everything ...
