Oh my dog is bomb proof they foolishly say .. well to be honest I say it of Asha! But at the end of the day, an animal is still an animal and some days natural instincts take over. Some days for no apparent reason other than maybe just the weather they are just in a bad a mood and the nearest candidate suffers for it!
After shopping this morning we were putting stuff away in the cupboards/fridge etc. Jamie, as Jamie does couldn't wait for an empty bag to climb into ... and Junior was just being his annoying little self screaming something about hating Kitekat! (Don't ask!) With the bags confiscated Jamie sat on the kitchen stool, now if you haven't seen Jamie, then I'm sure you've seen photos, these days Jamie doesn't fit on a kitchen stool .. well most of him doesn't anyway! So imagine the scene, his back-end and tail hanging over and it was just too much for Junior who started batting Jamie's tail about. Initially Jamie played with him but he was soon fed up of the juvenile games, and the more fed up he got the more he wagged his tail, and the more Junior hung off it and battered it about. At an unfortunate moment Finlay walked by and Jamie took out his frustration by walloping poor Finlay across the face. Finlay squealed, partly through shock then turned round and came back only for Jamie to lung out at his face a second time. This time I had to unhook Jamie's claws out of Finlay's face, Finn whimpered and walked away, Jamie didn't give a shit! As for Junior, well he was still playing with Jamie's tail and still getting away with it!!!!
Jamie is now 6 years old. He's mostly a peaceful, happy guy who granted likes his own way, but I have never seen him lash out at one of the dogs before. He doesn't like Tia, but we accept that, as Tia is a bully and can be vile with the other animals around her, and Jamie will not be bullied. He also "moves" any other cat or GSD who happen to be sitting where he wants to sit .. and believe you me it's easy for him to move a GSD, he knows how!
So I guess Mr Jamie was just having a bad day, it's raining and he can't/doesn't want to go out, or Jezi didn't share her breakfast with him, or he's just in a bad mood! So I guess an animal no matter how laid back, how biddable can still have an off day, or maybe just an off moment!
