Today didn't go that well. Louis' weight is at an all time low at 25.1kg. He's falling over when he's running due to weakness because of poor absorption of nutrition, his body is now absorbing it's own fat and muscle. He's back on metranidazole and zitac for the time being and has had another huge injection of b12 today. He looks awful and has lost 3kg of weight he couldn't afford to loose over the last few weeks. I don't know where he get his enthusiasm and energy from? It's hard to believe that a dog who looks like this is still enjoying life.
As I'm sure you remember all the specialists have recommended Louis be fed on one product/brand with nothing added. I totally understand the logic but as I pandered to Louis over food when he was young it's not easy. I've made him into a fussy little git and he expects something added. Gill Hubbard pleaded with me today to never fall into that trap again with another dog as she feels this regular change of diet is hindering the chances of Louis recovering. But what can I do? We are running out of time and I have to get him to eat.
Today I've bought three small different flavoured bags of James Well Beloved for him ... I can but try. Again I'm at my wits end and fear what is ahead.
