Most of the above are danbury mint, just a couple on the top that are not. There are two more now, Snow Patrol and Autumn Glow, but I guess I have no space. :(

The Perfect Dog - Almost
Nico will be 10 in April, he is beautiful, sweet kind dog. He's gentle and affectionate when he's calm, though can still be a bit of a bull in a china shop when he's excited. He's good with other dogs and cats. He's territorial, which is a good thing, but loves visitors when we let them in. On a walk, like in the show ring he's predictably obedient and always gives of his all. As a stud dog Nico was safe to handle in all situations, I trusted him, and he knew I would keep him safe. I made sure he was never bitten. Yeah, he's almost the perfect dog, but don't ever ever leave him alone in a room with an article of clothing with treats in the pockets, or that have had treats in the pockets. After a soaking I had left my coat in the living room to try and get it dried out for today's walks. Steve went out to the top gate to see if there was any post, I was cooking dinner. Minutes he was left with it, minutes! I'm not amused, but I'll get over it.

Derelict Cottages In Fron (Part 2)
Well I'm chuffed now to have all the information. Walking towards the lake the first property on the left is "Blaen Fferma. " We know the property on the right on the edge of the track is "Gors Y Fron" but there is little left of the next property on the left, "Tan Fferam." "Parc" is the large property lower down on the right and "Gorlan Wen" on the left through the gate. (with the fire place in the previous post) Now further along with the best of views above the lake is another property within its own fields, this was apparently called "Penrhyn" and was occupied till the 1940ies.

On the other side of the mountain on the boat quarry walk we have Auntie's cottage, Bryn Derwen and now I know the cottage below is called Pant Yr Ebolion ('Valley' or 'Hollow' of Foals)

The Derelict Cottages Of Fron
I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the Facebook page Comins Fron. I love reading posts from the older generations, hearing about their memories and seeing the old photos. This is a photo I took in 2016 and after 25 years of living here I finally know the names of some of these derelict houses and cottages. The nearest house is called "Parc" and the furthest which is on the track towards Llyn Ffynhonnau is called Gors Y Fron.
The property on the left as you go through the gate to Llyn Ffynhonnau is called Gorlan Wen. To be honest there's not much left of it and I had initially thought it was just a farm building and not a dwelling, but when I did explore it I realised there was still an old fire place in it.
I do have a photo of it from the front - but I think I'll be quicker taking another than finding it!

There is another cottage on the track to Llyn Ffynhonnau, on the left as you walk towards the lake, I'd love to find out what this is called too.
We know now that "Auntie's Cottage" is called Bryn Derwen but there is a cottage further down too and I really hope someone will know what it was called.
I have to confess I don't go down here often, it's quite a pull back up and it makes me realise how unfit I am! Now I have a need to go again though ... soon.
Making The Most Of It
As if it wasn't wet enough we went straight to find more water. Mr S was not impressed when we got home, but we had such a great time and I love to see them loving life.
