Kaiah is really chuffed with her Ducks from the babies isle in tesco .. £1.00 each,
much cheaper than dog toys and obviously just as safe!

Continuing The Sociolising

Kaiah enjoying her time at Carrie's house with Linda
 Meeting Bruno
With her sweet outgoing character Kaiah doesn't need socializing now, but she still enjoys to go out and about to meet new people and catch up with friends.  She thoroughly enjoyed her afternoon, made herself at home and loved the treats!

Memories

This morning how apt that my Facebook memories should be of Krizzie. The photo taken on the 5th of April 2007 .. only 8 months before we so tragically lost her so young. Yesterday the last of her "F" litter sons died at 12 years old. Only our Tali, her single daughter born is now left. Krizzie was an amazing girl .. full of fun and mischief, with a wicked sense of humor.
From 2 litters "Cajun" was the last puppy she gave birth too. Krizzie was a bitch that whelped during daylight hours, pretty rare really, but she did it twice. Her first "F" litter boy arrived at 10.36am  on the 7.1.05.. and then the boys just kept coming, until puppy number 6  ...a sigh of relief as Tali arrived at 3.50pm. Another 2 boys would follow and by 8.30pm Krizzie was settled with her 7 boys and 1 girl .. exactly what she had had in the "E" litter of 2003! Luckily I sleep with the bitches for days after whelping, and at 3.50am we had a surprise, Cajun came into the world. He was flat and not breathing and had obviously been distressed as still in his bag he was covered in poo ... but with some vigorous rubbing and warmth (not so) little Cajun took his first breath and never looked back.
His owner is distressed at her loss, but thanked me for allowing her to have this amazing dog ... I can ask no more. Sleep tight little Cajun ... You Have Been Loved

The Conclusion

Coming out from under "Smurf Bridge" last week.
After observing Tali and getting help today we have come to the conclusion that the problem of her not wanting to jump into the van is mainly due to her eyesight. (and the fact I dropped her may have knocked her confidence)  We know she can't focus well in the dark or see dark colours, and basically she is taking off too soon and missing the target when she tries to jump into the van. I guess it's pretty daunting when you are told to get in but you can only see a black hole.
Linda is going to look in the charity shops for a brightly coloured blanket that we can drape over the edge of the door way to see if Tali can time her jump more correctly. There is nothing wrong with her actual jump .. bless her she's just jumping too soon and missing the target.

Looking Too Well?

Tali's IBS details are well recorded. She has good periods and bad periods, and at the moment she's really doing well. Adding the 4th meal really does seem to have helped, apparently lots of small meals keep the intestine working far better than larger quantities. So Tali has 2 meals of Arden Grange sensitive (Fish and potato) and 2 meals of freshly cooked fish with pasta or mashed potato. But now we have another problem, one not common to Tali in her later years anyway, she's getting fat!
Well no not fat as in obese, just a little rounder than we are use to seeing but it is already starting to affect her lifestyle and she is struggling to jump into the van. Over the week-end she's had a few miss cues, and on one occasion I was too slow to catch her bottom to help her in and she fell, so yesterday she was hesitant to try jumping in at all.
Of course the other problem is her eyesight and she does tend to jump a little too soon. Going from the light into the dark must be very difficult for her to judge, but the extra weight will not help her.
I have decided too and stopped the pasta and potato and will just give her the fish at lunch at supper time, with maybe some of her food which I'll take from the other two meals. That should help with her weight gain, but I need a plan of action to lighten the entrance into the van. Maybe with a second person to help today I'll try shining a torch on the crate for when she's jumping in. Give it a go eh!
Kaiah will be going for her 6 month weigh in next week, I'll take Tali then too and see where we stand by then.

Slow Pace Today

Much shorter walks for the guys today .. pushed my luck yesterday and walked too far so struggling today, but it was such a lovely day yesterday and basically I forgot to pace myself. Still everyone needs to go out today as well so needs must. After all it's my choice to have so many dogs and I'm committed to trying to give them everything they need. So yeah shorter walks, but a slower pace so I guess they had plenty of time out.

Someone Little

Really had it on her today. But god she makes me laugh. Even when I get frustrated with her I have a feeling that she's laughing at me!

Just LOVE this first photo of Kaiah. Shows off who she is, mischievous, funny and sweet,
It just makes me smile.
I didn't put her here
just took advantage of the fact she was on there to get the photo and managed to get a zoomed one too!

Stunning Day, Sensational Views

The Girls - Waunfawr, Caenant and Caernarfon Bay behind them
Jezi and Nico - In the background The Rivals or "Yr Eifl"  to me, "are the mountains on the north coast of the LlÅ·n Peninsula. It has three summits, each quite separate from the others."
Not so much view here, little one was "Vevy Naughty" and as you can see I gave up on the view just to get a picture!

This Morning

Tali was in first, Loki chewing the water and Kaiah still just watching
Ziva, Sammi and Asha in front of the local shop!
Took Nico and Jezi this way to Llyn Cop to get away from the wicked Westies ... but ran straight into the Brittany Spaniel! Ah well at least she's always under control and with her chatty owner, unlike the other little shits who are spoiling everyone's walks!
