This morning I woke up at 7.45am, I felt uncomfortably warm and dragged myself on top of the duvet. Instantly Orin started to "woof," it's hard to believe he heard that but he did, after all their senses are ridiculously acute. "Dogs hear nearly twice as many frequencies as humans. They can also hear sounds four times further away — so what human ears can hear from 20 feet away; dogs can hear from 80 feet away." I wonder now if our constant tossing and turning in that heat last week made him think we were getting up .. or maybe Lexi goes out when Frank gets up and he hears that? I'll ask!
Tomorrow I'm off to Bath champ show. I've only entered the two youngsters and with an "allrounder" judging as opposed to a breed specialist I've no idea how we will fair. Years ago he did like Loki and Bella, but not a young Kaiah ... obviously she's not giving him a second opportunity, but I am with Orin and Siska. On Sunday we are heading down South again, this time to Chippenham to a breed show. Steve is starting to give me earache about "putting so much stress on an old van," but it's the only van I have! These shows are only close together because of the lockdown earlier in the year, I have to make the most of them as we never know what Autumn and Winter will bring do we.
As well as the youngsters, Sammi B is entered in her first veteran class on Sunday at SWGSD. She's not in full coat, but looks good enough to go. I'm already thinking of how I can leave water down for her, as we know she likes to throw it. The non spill bowls, as good as they are, are not anti tip over! lol I guess extra water and a dry vet bed will be needed for coming home. She thinks it's so funny, well I guess it is ... a little!
Loki starts at Paws4Fitness on Thursday, it's dearer than Mochdre, but I guess taking time and diesel into account it'll be about the same. Sadly Steve and I both feel he's been going backwards this last week or so, and as you doubt yourself I'm glad Ian could see that too when he saw him on Saturday. Honesty is so important, saying he's doing well because people think it's what you want to hear really is pointless. Basically he's been knuckling a lot on his front, that causes him to fall onto his face, or if he's lucky onto his side. His backend is also weak today, Hopefully it's just a glitch ...
