Happy 7th birthday to all the beautiful Blanik "G" litter, (Kaiser Vom Conbhairean x Blanik Frankie) especially my wonderful Asha and Mikey - pictured here today with their adoring mother Tali.
In her eyes, still they do no wrong!!!
Tali went into labour late on the 2nd of July 2008, and a large male pup was born at 11.10pm. He was a typical boy and did a lot of screaming and shouting but was slow to feed. I christened him "Al." (now Kai) At 11.45pm miss greedy guts arrived. A fat pale bitch puppy who was feeding before she was dry - Hmm Greedy Guts I thought - we'll call her Gee.Gee! Somethings never change and Gee, now Asha is always the first to find food. (Even if it means stealing it out of someone's bag!)
With Faith (Maya) arriving at 12.30am and Miss P (Seren) making an appearance 1.10am all seemed to be going well. But after a 2 hour break we had complications and a trip to the vet seemed necessary - but at 3am (ish) on the speed bumps in Groeslon a large deformed dead puppy was born. To be safe we continued to the vets where another dead puppy was delivered, the vet suggested he had been dead a few days which did explain an incident which had worried me at the time. God bless the two little ones too special for this world, they are never forgotten!
The vet said there were other puppies to arrive but everything else felt ok; and as we made our way home over the bridge in Chwilog Mikey was born on the back seat on my ford escort estate! The other 4 pups were still in a washing basket on the front seat of the car so Mikey had special cuddles and a quick feed before we got home! Little Betty (Georgie) waited till we got home and made her appearance at 4.30am. I think about her so much. I so wish her owners would get back in touch. All our babies are precious to us and we are both sad to not know what has become of her!
If any bitch was suppose to be a mother then it was Tali, she thrived, she shone, she bloomed. And she still adores the two that live with her. She gives them anything and has all the time in the world for them, unlike her granddaughters whom she just tolerates!
Asha has grown up to be a star, she has THE BEST character ever! She has shone in the show ring, is obedient, biddable and kind.
And Mikey? LOL Honestly, what do I say? .. he's a knobhead! But in a nice, funny way!
He has no malice, no agenda, he's just OTT and all he wants is be the centre of my/our world.
The two of them have done me proud both in and out of the show ring ring. It's hard to accept that they are now 7 years old, officially classed as "Old" dogs!
I guess as long as no one tells them it won't matter!!!!
