George Michael - This Is How (We Want You To Get High) (Lyric Video)
Not afraid to admit that I'm sobbing my heart out. Oh George.
"Shortly before his death, George Michael recorded a handful of songs for a new album and a new George Michael song will be released tomorrow. According to co-writer and co-producer, James Jackman, it is one of four songs that Michael completed for an album he was recording at the time of his death. “They are great songs. George was in a good space, excited about the future, confident that he was going to come back with a bang. It would have been an upbeat positive album, a 21st Century Faith. It’s a shame it wasn’t finished.” “Those of us who were close to him saw his hunger and motivation in those last months. He was back in the studio working on new material, he’d got his driving license back, he was talking about getting a new puppy. It was a complete shock when I got that call on Christmas day.” Although George had been working on a new album Jackman does not believe it will ever see the light of day. “There is fantastic material but it’s not finished. They were sketches, lyric ideas, parts of verses and choruses. His family want to honour George’s memory so they won’t be pulling half-finished demos out of the vault.”Four tracks, had been fully completed by George himself, The remaining three unreleased George Michael songs will “all see the light of day, but in what form we don’t know yet” according to Jackman. “They were made with great care, when he was at the top of his game, and it was incredible to be a part of. He was one of the greatest singer-songwriter’s this country has ever produced. This stuff is as good as anything he ever recorded.”

Little Miss K practicing her show stance! lol
+ 28 days - The embryo is oval in shape and about an inch in diameter.+ 29 and 30 days - Male and Female sexual characteristics show and the eyelids close. Those puppies that are born with no eyes at all under the closed eyelids had some sort of mishap at the time."

Cats Out And About
Junior
Jamie you are not taking it seriously
That's better Jamie
He's such a funny boy
And where are the youngsters on this glorious Autumn day?
In a bed big enough for one!
Showing
Now we've always said local shows are often a lottery .. it's a great day out with friends and our lovely dogs, a day to relax and enjoy. I understand the judges are not breed specialist, they have their own breeds and they judge these local show to give us all a day out. BUT, when judging a breed on the day, even if you know nothing then character comes first followed closely by soundness .. if an animal is not sound if it can not move then it is not put together correctly and should not win ... SIMPLES!
Huge congrats to Ian's Kasey who showed them all how it's done by hammering it around that ring to win BOB yesterday. I was proud to be on the other end of the lead.

Just The Longest Time
The first 2 weeks after Kaiah was mated seemed to go quite quickly really, but now everything feels like it's on go slow. After 3 weeks it's a time when there are little to no outward physical signs of pregnancy but a time of important developments .. and a time when I really really want to know. I'm trying not to think too much about it, but I can't help myself it's all I'm thinking about. Kaiah is not showing me any signs that she is pregnant, but neither is she showing me signs that she is not. Knowing one way or the other helps you prepare and deal with things doesn't it. I have to try and prepare myself for good and bad news. I don't know how I'll cope if she isn't pregnant. I have so much emotionally invested in this that I think I'll fall apart if there are no puppies to come.
I will organise for Kaiah to get a scan at 5.5 weeks. After the stress of Sammi's scan I'd sooner wait just a few extra days and get a more definite prediction. If she is showing no signs of pregnancy by then I may leave it or wait an extra few days ... it's all ifs and buts now and will be for another 10 days or so. Bloody hell I've no idea how people can do this every 6 months or year, I think I'd loose the bloody plot! Logically there is little reason for Kaiah not to be pregnant, she's young, fit and health and had a text book mating to a male of equal merits at the optimum time, but of course we all know too well when its wanted so much how often it doesn't happen. Two crossbreeds bonking on the street and bingo - 6 puppies, carefully planned mating's from health tested animals and nothing ... ah well 10 -14 days and we should know if this carefully planned mating was successful!

Nico's Studs
Which brings me to the next stud enquiry .. I was expecting someone here about 10 days ago.. I bent over backwards to help them and as we know each other I offered the same deal even though I wasn't going to do that until he was nine. On day 7 they were preparing for an idexx test, on day 14 they still hadn't done it and I suggested they do it ASAP ... and that is the last I've heard from them. Now don't get me wrong, if they have changed their mind, well that's fine, if they have used another dog, it's their choice, if they have decided not to breed well so be it, but surely it's only common courtesy to let me know? All I ask is to be kept in the loop, damn right rude to keep me hanging I think .. don't you?
One of my friends in another breed was shocked to hear how little stud fee we charge in GSD's. In her breed the average is the price of one puppy, in GSD's it's about half the price of one puppy. I've never questioned it really .. different breeds, different ideas and far more reputable stud dogs in my breed than hers which is numerically much smaller.
Nico is still fit and well and I have no reason to believe that he should not still be available at stud to bitches who pass my criteria. I would love to see just a couple more litters out of him and hopefully some progeny in the ring. Even if I say so myself, to date the health tests of his progeny are fantastic. The latest Ylanris Paloma who got her results last week - Elbows: 0, Hips: 7/6, DNA clear for DM PD MDR1 HUU, Carries long coat.
I love this photo of Nico trying to keep up with the girls .. no chance mate .. you are just a boy!
Warm Towel Please
Well I've done it, a not so little Luther is booked in at the vets next week to have his jingle bells removed. A confusion with his name had us both giggling .. "No LUTHER no Looser!" He will be 6.5 months by then, so young I know but what do i do? I would be horrified knowing anyone was neutering a dog at that age but different species, different life style, needs must!
I got everyone walked today, rain and a little wind yes, but more invigorating than annoying. I/we really enjoyed ourselves - though I couldn't believe the fact that in avoiding other walkers I walk straight towards the baying Vizlas. I don't see why so many people don't walk on days like today, waterproof clothes are all you need, oh and plenty of towels when you get home of course. It's funny Kaiah loves to be dried with a warm towel .. I think she'd stand there all day if the towel is warmbut wiggles about otherwise.
