Critique from City Of Birmingham Champ Show

MPB (3) 1 Stanley’s Blanik Ivana, nice baby of 8 months, clean looking with pleasing head, eye, ear, muzzle & mouth. She had a good forehand & pleasing rear, super shapely frame & correct tailset & carriage. She was in excellent coat & condition & showed a pleasing profile outline & she moved & showed well; 2 Smedley’s Samphil’s Barina, taller more upstanding, shorter in body & longer in thigh. She had a nice head & expression, deep brisket, shapely body & was put down in excellent coat although not the substance or quality of winner.

Can't complain about that can I!!!!

Some Of The Pups At 4 Weeks

I'm very confused this morning - all 10 of the puppy photos were on Facebook last night. I saw them and commented ... this morning I can only find the 5 sent to me on messenger! Hopefully I can add the others later ... these are navy, pale blue and orange. With pink girl and purple on the bottom.

Well Done Baby Dog

I'm over the moon, we just had a great day at Anglesey Canine Society's show. Sammi was Best Puppy In Breed and Mikey Best Of Breed.
They both then went on to win their afternoon variety classes leaving them both as unbeaten dog/puppy. Mikey gave his best performance of the day in the best in show ring and was shortlisted to the final cut ... but it was not to be. Sammi did brilliantly and made it almost to the top being Reserve Best Puppy in show. (Official photos to follow!) Her behaviour as ever, impeccable in the ring.
And Mikey? Well at my expense he gave everyone a giggle!

Decisions Decisions

Dexi - Still the top Winning "Blanik"

Though I try not to think about it, my head is still fluttering from one place to another. I keep thinking of all the reasons for and against bringing in a new baby boy. Friends are not helping with their remarks of "it's meant to be," or "go for it girl!" (You know who you are!) It's a big decision, a hard decision; and I keep remembering how heartbroken I was giving up both the boys in the last litter. Maybe someone, somewhere knew the bigger picture? Haha Now I'm just trying to convince myself.
Last week I went on about black masks ... did Louis have a black mask? No! Did Dexi? No! They both had enough, but with their deep red tan they had the most fantastic heads and expression! All these pups have beautiful deep colours, just to my taste!

Louis- My Mr Amazing

What makes it so hard is that I really had set my heart of mating Jezi in January. The baby girl who was going to stay was going to be called "Ettie" and her registered name was going to be "Blanik Jezebel." Both a play on Jezi's name, as Jezi's registered name is Blanik Hettie ... See? But if I have a puppy then I don't have to cancel this plan, I can simply delay for 12 months, or even reevaluate at a later date. (this is where Sammi's health tests could influence the decision)
Is this a pedigree I want to bring into my kennel? Err ... honestly I'm not looking that far ahead! I hope to continue my line through my girls, if this boy turned out well then yeah I could mate him to Jezi or Ziva, but obviously not Sammi. Honestly I have no conclusion, I'm still plodding on aimlessly looking for answers!

A "Louis" Moment

Today I cried again. I think about him everyday, usually with a smile of wonderful memories of precious times spent together; but today I cried at the heartbreak of my loss.
Here there have been so many loved and lost, top winners, top producers, best friends but none have left a scar like the loss of my wonderful Louis.  He was my very special friend , In him I truly believe I have had "the dog" in my lifetime!

The Man In My Dreams

Last night you broke into my dreams, this morning I can't get you out of my mind. Where are you? What's going on in your life? This silence is scary, I fear the black dog has you in his clutches again.
I haven't written about you for so long; it's not that I don't think about you, because I do ... I think about you all of the time, it's just that there really is nothing new to say. You have my heart, that will never change.
The Symphonica singles came and went, but without you publicising them somehow it gave little cause for celebration. I love them, how could I not? But we heard nothing from you, saw nothing of you and for me it left it all a tad hollow.
Seriously, I am thankful for what you have give us over the years. You and only you, have on occasions given me the strength to carry on. I wish you as a person love, peace and happiness within your life. I remember so clearly your words .. "It's not what you have, it's what your missing!" I pray someday you will find what's missing in your life and that you will feel complete and at peace with yourself. Then hopefully one day you will have the strength to come back to us. Until then my lovely we will be thinking about you....

Last weight and measures till 12 month today. Sammi is still the same height, I make her 61.5cm and today she weighed 30.70kg. She looks bloody great, looking forward to the last few shows of the year now!

Not the best photos as it's a dark, wet and miserable day. But still it gives us all an idea of what she looks like on yet another milestone in her young life. No longer a Minor Puppy, it just gets harder as they get older! Beautiful isn't she! :)
I'm repeating myself but, I love this naught angel so much, she lights up my life, she makes me smile, she makes me laugh ... so proud of you baby girl.

This Mask Thing

Various degree's of mask. 

The first top photo is Sheba, a bitch who we rescued and re-homed about 10 years ago. Sheba had no mask at all. 

The second top photo is Asha, more mask and a sweet gentle expression

The first bottom photo is Ziva and the second is Sammi,both have more mask with Sammi having a very pronounced mask. These two are my preference, though I think Asha has a beautiful head and expression I would have loved it had she kept a little more mask.
Both Mikey and Nico have very black masks and some people find them facially hard to tell apart. But Mikey has a shorter muzzle as Louis did, and Nico is longer is muzzle like Kai was. Neither Louis nor Kai had such black masks, but both had beautiful heads with wonderful expression.
