Bloody Timewasters

Has The Whelping Box Shrunk?

I'm really in one tonight! I've had 2 cancellations for the pups, so I'm back to just 2 pups booked. I guess I have to appreciate that both lots of people picked up the phone and let me know but it's left me a little worried about the future. I guess there's plenty of time but I do like them to start their new life in their new homes at the right time!
Also my camera/memory card or computer has malfunctioned and I've lost a lot of photos from the last couple of months. Thankfully I've save quite a lot, but sadly not all! This is not the first time I've lost all the data off a memory card without any warning, Maybe I should get a disposable camera from tesco!
Anyway on a brighter note we started to introduce the pups to solid food last night, this time I'm trying CSJ CP27. If the pups do as well on this product as the adults are doing on the Natural and Old Champ foods then I'll be a happy bunny. Honestly Asha looks fantastic on the CSJ Hike On, all she needs is a correctly fitting bra and she could go to a show!!! Good start with the pups anyway, they loved it. I think we have a box full of little piggies!

Guess Who's Got His Mojo Back???

Though I wouldn't dream of showing you a picture of him Standing at the moment I think the expression on Louis' face says it all.... "I'm much better today thank You Very Much!" Another huge sigh of relief.
Seriously I really thought on Wednesday and Thursday that this was it, he looked like the walking dead...and now my Louis has a twinkle in his eye and a spring in his step again. Let's just hope I can keep him eating now!

4 years since you left me ...
 ...that's so hard to believe.
Wherever you are now let's just hope your behaving, maybe a little better than you did for me! I hope you know how many people loved you and how many people worked hard to get you safe back then.
Thank you for everything you gave me.

The Girls (All in Order)

Alex, Jane and Sukie

Maggie and May

Mini Minx and Tinie Tempah

The Boys

They all had their nails cut and were weighed, everyone's putting weight on with Sukie still being by far the heaviest in the litter at 3lb and Tinie Tempah lagging behind at 2lb. Mini Minx who was the tiniest when they were born is now only an oz behind May. Sorry the photos are a little dark, next week I'll ask the "assistant" not to wear black!!!

Videos

Pups, 2 weeks old ... Filmed with my phone whilst cooking dinner ... Bit dark in the beginning, sorry don't know how to edit...but it improves, well a little!!!.

And since I've discovered how to add videos directly from Facebook, here's Kai and 12 and a half year old Kiri splashing about!

A Little Brightness

After the darkness of yesterday, today Louis seems a little better. He was clean over night and has eaten some James Wellbeloved (white fish). Maybe I'm just being hopeful but his eyes don't look quite as sunken and he does seem much more lively today. Honest to god my emotions are in tatters, this is one of life's "rides" that I'm not enjoying!
Thanks to everyone who commented or text today, it means a lot. Helen, Tali would like you to know she's doing just great, stitches due out over the week-end, she really doesn't know what all the fuss was about!

All Time Low

Sometimes Life is so cruel, Louis' the nicest dog I could ever wish to share a life with. So why does he have to suffer like this? If the last few weeks have been hard, the last few days have been heartbreaking. He looks so awful now, it pains me to actually touch him. Every bone's sticking out without a bit of covering on them. The last 2 days I've had to change his bedding in the morning, the good thing being that he seems totally oblivious to the mess. Up to now today he's also
refused to eat more than a few grains of food. A dog looking like he does should surely be hungry?
At the beginning of the week the vet has sent off another stool sample and today Louis was given another B12 injection and has re-start  his antibiotics. Louis' weight today was at an all time low, he weighed just 27.40KG.
It feels like we are going around in circles and not getting any answers....So what next?...where the bloody hell do we go now?

Are We Keeping You Awake May?

I've just been sat by the whelping box, just looking .... I just got so overcome with emotion. New life, so innocent, so precious so special. I promise them I will do everything in my power to keep them safe forever. I promise I will try and make sure they are loved and happy in their homes, and if at anytime it doesn't work out for them...they can always come home!
They are all so beautiful, Maybe there will never be a show dog amoungst them...though I do hope. To us What ever will be they will always be are our beautiful Blanik "H" babies.

And your name is....

Just rang the The Kennel Club to sort out my puppy names as some of my choices and reserves had been rejected. The converstaion was going the usually way with the K.C. As usually I felt uncomfortable, but as I talk to the woman I got a text from Geri, my ring tone is George Michael's Fastlove. The woman went quite, then said...love the ring tone, so we started talking about George. She saw him at Earls Court, Wembly and Saw Wham! the Final... it was just so nice to natter to her.
Anyway the names accepted are ...
Girls
Blanik Hippy, Hettie, Hattie, Helina, Helena, Harriette, Haleigh
Boys
Blanik Harvey and Hadley

Cuddled Up Together

Peep-po Harley

George

Last night's concert is rumoured to have been a truly emotional roller-coster with most fans in tears throughout. It's sad that as far as forums and the press have been concerned the first concert reviews have been over-shadowed by George's statement ....."My battles with substances are well documented and my partner went through similar problems with drink.
"He's brought me a lot of joy and a lot of pain and I'm so sorry things have not worked out but Kenny and I have not been together for two-and-a-half years. The truth is my love life has been a lot more turbulent than I have let on. I'm so sad about my relationship with Kenny."
I wish all the love and luck in the world to both of them. There has been a lot of speculation about it for a long time but, it's their lives, their rights to give us as little or as much info as they choose. Anyway, On with the show!

Tonight

I'll say it now because come December if you are not a GM fan you might get pretty sick of me! He is touring, it kicks off today until December. I'm excited and I'm going to a few shows. If you can tolerate him/me and accept me for who I am, then I salute you but if you can't then just look at the GSD's. This is ME!!! This is what I enjoy, this is what I am passionate about. I'm not going to apologise! Your not going to spoil this for me....Bring it on George!
Seriously the Symphonica tour kicks off tonight with the first date in the Prague State Opera House . I'm excited, but a little jealous that I can't be there at the beginning. It'll be a long few weeks till I get to join the tour on the 30th of November at Liverpool. A couple of weeks break then 2 nights at the MEN mid December.
I'm sure friends who are now beginning their "Tour" will keep us updated with photos and news. That will be fantastic...unless it makes me a little more jealous!! (Only joking..honest!)
Never mind, My day will soon come.

Wet Woodland Walk

Just one quick shot taken with my phone of Kai and Kiri in the woods in Tremadog today. They love it there, but having spent a lot of my childhood playing in there, so do I! Even though I looked today, there was no sign of George behind any of the bushes...DAMN!!!!

Tali's Home

So pleased today is over and done with and that our Tali is now home, though still very drowsy!
Driving home I couldn't help but think of how some "breeders"  would now be re-homing her. By this age she would have had her "litters" and be of no further use to them. Well here with us Tali has had her one and only litter, has marked her stamp firmly on the "Blanik line" and will be a much loved family member forever and a day.
I'll make the most of her quiet mood as I'm sure Tali and her kids will soon be up to no good again!

Just A Couple Or Three More Pics Of Tali's Gran-Kids

One Day I Will Be Big!

Oii...Are You Awake?
Say Cheese!

Comments and Tali

Can I just say - I really really appreciate it when people take time to make comments on my blog. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if anybody is actually looking and maybe I should just stick to facebook ... now I know at least a handful of people are interested in my world of GSD's and George Michael (I promise more pics of Our Greek God soon Angela and Geri - No doubt I'll be flooding the blog with new tour pics very soon!)
I't really is simple to leave a comment and actually means a lot to me. Simply, click on comment underneath the relevent post; write your message, if you don't have a google account then click on the Anonymous box. Copy the letters in the Word verification box (that's to protect me from spam!) and publish your comment ......(Oh and don't forget to sign it)  Simples! And Thank you
Tali is off to the vets to be spayed today. I guess you know my heart is in my mouth. Not so easy when it's your own is it! I'll post with news again later!

Computer Says NO!

Kiri doesn't sit still to have her photo taken very often, and this one took several attempts. Not a bad photo taken with the phone so I thought I'd share!
Kiri, now 12 and a half, had a lovely time swimming in the river with Kai. I did get it on video but flicker won't let me load it as apparently I've loaded my maximum capacity of videos for this month!!! So I tried Photobucket... it loaded, but today that won't share with blogger...ahhhhhh.

Last Night

Asha and baby - sleeping
Hold Me Mummy
Told you I can't stop taking photos.
At some point I think Asha will get pissed off and confiscate the camera!
Just one more then!

Taking a break

Somethings never change do they, whilst taking a break
from her maternal duties Asha decided  it was time to check on her beloved pink ball. I draw the line at it going into the whelping box though!
To be honest though she is an excellent mother she hasn't quite got her head around the fact that she can't go walking in the mountain with the others at the moment. Steve has to go and sit with her as I leave, it really is a case of throwing the baby out of the pram!! To make sure she doesn't feel totally left out we do have a little toddle out when I come back. She's desperate to get out ... but even more desperate to get back!

Never Mind Asha, You and your ball will soon be back swimming in that lake!

Celebrations

Tali

What better way to celebrate becoming a grandmother than rolling in cow shit?
Must admit...I was not amused!

I Saw Green!

Asha-"I'm sure I didn't ask for so many!"
Basha's Beautiful Baby

Well what a night that turned out to be! At around 5.30 pm I found Asha had green fluid on her tail, it had obviously passed from her vulva. I know the presence of this green discharge before any pups are born to be a warning that something is going badly wrong. (Thank God for "Book Of The Bitch!")
We loaded the car and were off on one of the longest journey's to the vets ... 25 mins seemed like hours. There was some more green patches on the vet bed as we arrived at the vets.
On examination the vet found that the the cervix was fully open and a puppy was presented there ready to be born, but Asha was very stressed and making no effort to delivery her babies. With the afterbirth passing first the pup would not be viable for long! In the interest of all an immediate cesarean was necessary.
Once I'd dealt with the stress of  the situation, and I only had seconds to come to terms with it, I found the whole thing fascinating and magical. Puppies flying at us from all directions, with every breath taken Steve and I took a sigh of relief. The vets, his nurse and our lovely friend Sharon were all fantastic. We owe them all so much! Maybe just a job to them, but so so much more to us. As soon as my lovely Asha was awake I started to relax and actually see a bright future. I can't help it, in these situations my glass is always half empty and Asha is just so precious to me/us!
Bringing them home was strange, normal birth gives me a chance to identify the family and make sure they all feed quickly. Here I had 9  babies in a pile in a whelping box and no idea who was who and who had managed to feed! Asha was totally taken aback..."where the bloody hell did these all come from?" But mother nature is a wonderful thing and within no time she had taken charge, all had settled, been washed and fed! I think she will be a wonderful mother!
Tali's excited, but I dare not let her in, maybe in a few days I'll let her have a sneaky peak when Asha goes for a peepee...but Tali,  No touching!!!
All we can do now is give her the love and support she deserves to hopefully bring up all of her lovely litter. Thanks to all for phone calls, text messages and e.mail, you're support is always appreciated!

Move On!

I've had a few dark painful days recently, I've been so hurt, devestated, absolutly shattered by the whole situation. My friends and my lovely Stevie have been fantastic. As ever they have been wonderful support, and a George fix today has helped pull me through.
When nothing else seems to do the trick, blasting my brains out with some Yog always helps me pull through... So now I'm off to the Capital City of  CCcc....  hmm what was it again????
Thank God for the man that helps me keep my sanity, thank God for my escapism, Thank God for "MY" George Michael!

Even today.......

...The pink ball has to go walkies!

Day 61 and babies are imminent. Asha kept us awake last night, she was obviously uncomfortable and couldn't settle. Anyway unlike us she's had a very restful day and has now eaten 2 meals.
Watch this space!

Sometimes It'll All Just TOOOO Much!

Going for walks are getting a little difficult for Asha now, so a slow toddle around the field with some stops are necessary. Maybe she would find it easier if she didn't carry her muched loved pink ball as well as her belly? Still I'm not spoiling her fun!
Her mission to build a den under the stool has today caused some problems, the lino is now ripped! Ah Well....That's life!

Are You Telling Her?.....Or Shall I?

With only a week or so to go Asha is making nesting plans, I think there could be a bit of a flaw in this idea though...I doubt even a JRT could have pups under there! Funny though, her and Mikey spent a lot of their puppy hood playing under this stool ...
