Where was Louis' Mojo?

After worrying the life out of me on Sunday and Monday, I'm glad to say that Louis' got his mojo back today. His refusal to eat followed by more chronic diarrhea scared me, but his lethargy left me shattered. Previously throughout this illness Louis has been his usual bubbly self, to see him "affected" by this truly did upset me. So for one reason and another we spent the whole of Sunday night awake and together. I know I've said this is before but this is one Roller Coaster ride that I'm really not enjoying and I hope to god now that we are close to the end of this painful ordeal. Strong antibiotics prescribed....here's hoping this time we have the answer!

Abandoned

19/1/11
This 8 week old German Shepherd pup was abandoned and taken into the pound. He has a deformity in his back leg and due to the information we now have we have no doubts that he was dumped. There's no excuses, there are plenty of vets and rescue organisations in the area ....
He will be visiting our vets tomorrow.

20/1/11
"Teddy" (don't blame me for the name!!) has a fused patella, there is no movement at all in the joint. Our vet thinks the pup may well cope with his three and a quarter legs and unless he starts knuckling or showing pain there is no need to consider amputation. Teddy is a little man who has a big attitude and thank the lord he is no way phased by his ordeal. I think he'll need a home where he is considered as a GSD pup and not a disabled pup!!!

More Results

We took Louis for his B12 injection today. The vet said the results show the pancreas to be Ok, but the first part of his small intestine is not working correctly. His thyroid is border line, and she prescribed a 3 week course of soloxine, which she hopes to not have to repeat. He has had normal stools since Thursday and is now on Royal Canine GSD food. His weight is 28.75kg, a slight increase on last Mondays 28.15kg.
Though his symptoms were similar to Jay's his results have been totally different. Just goes to show that we never really know...
Cross everything for us.

Just The Way You Are

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause George you're amazing
Just the way you are

Jamie

Someone throw another log on the fire!!

"Dogs think they are human Cats think they are GOD"
- Don't let him hear that for God sake, he's hard enough to live with as it is! Anyway George is God in this house so I'm off to church now ;)

Amazing

Thank you so much to my lovely friends at the Nantlle Vale Dog Training Club for organising for me to get this wonderful pencil drawing of Louis as a leaving present from the club. Believe me this photo taken with my phone does the actual picture no justice. Also a huge thank you to Louise for her hard work. She is so talented and the drawing without question truly captures My Mr Amazing.
I'm sorry I was not able to come to the club to collect my gift but considering what is going on in my life at the moment, I'm not in the right frame of mind for any get together. I am honestly sorry if I upset anyone, or ruined any plans.
I guess this is the end of an era. I've been an instructor at this club since I joined in 1988. I've seen so many members, as well as instructors come and go...and I've seen many stay and most importantly made some fantastic friends. But my circumstances have now changed and I can no longer give the commitment to the club that I have given for over 20 years. Believe me this has not been an easy decision, the club has been a huge part of my life and along with my other passions in life it has helped me through the hard times. But sadly, for me anyway, it is time to say goodbye.
As a child in 1979 I went with my Grandmother and her little Sheltie, Sandy to the Porthmadog and District Dog Training Club, and I loved it! I stayed a member of the club until it closed in around 1982/3. Some of the instructors at that club then went on to form another club in Pen-Y-Groes, this was later to become The Nantlle Vale Dog Training Club. As soon as I got my driving license I started to make the weekly trips from Porthmadog to Pen-Y-Groes to the club.
In 1991 the club sent me on a course with The British Institute Of Professional Dog Trainers and I qualified as an instructor. One condition of the course was that I stay with the club for the next 3 years....I guess I may have overstayed my welcome then!!!
I guess they won't be getting rid of my completely, I will carry on visiting the club regularly with my dogs to support the Ring Craft, and hopefully many future generations of "Blanik" GSD's will learn their ring etiquette at the Nantlle Vale Dog Training Club.
I wish the club and all it's members all the best for the future!

Roller Coaster

Louis-looking great-Feb 10

This roller coaster ride is shit! It's ripping me apart and breaking my heart.
I need to find out what's going on, for my sanity I need some answers, sooner rather than later. My dogs are my life, and this is my very special friend, seeing him like this is more than I can bare. Life is so god damn cruel sometimes!
*****
I Don't want to start any blasphemous rumors
But I think that God's got a sick sense of humor
And when I die
I expect to find him laughing

Where Is My Yog?

Back in Sydney...apparently!
Well according to the Australian Press anyway. Let's just hope he behaves himself this time. To me it didn't seem his previous visit to Australia left him in a "good place" and it seemed to be the beginning of last years downward spiral. Just my opinion of course!
Wherever he is I would love to see some photos, but this is my crisis of conscience; I love to see the photos but hate the way his privacy is invaded to achieve them. But here I simply don't have an answer!
Anyway I'm looking forward to what is rumored to be on offer this year, and will be optimistically putting some pennies aside! Come on George I'm "Waiting!"

Cautiously Optimistic

Today Louis weighed 28.9Kg and the vet could feel nodules on the pancreas which led her to believe that there is an inflammation of/on the pancreas. I guess considering the thoughts I've had recently, if this diagnosis is correct then this is the lesser of the two evils!
