The "ladies" (term used very loosely!!) are 6 months old today, I'll get some photos and post them on my blog later. Sadly I can't weigh them because the vets are closed .... it's a Sunday!!! But just out of interest I have measure them to compare with Tali and Asha's heights at the same age... here goes ...

Jezi - 58.5cms

Ziva - 57cms
Danni - 58.5cms
At 6months Asha was 58cms and hard to believe Tali was only 54cms. I measure Tali at 59.5cms and Asha at 61cms now. Asha is slightly over the maximum height for a bitch, though she will be "sitting" her breed survey next month and will be professionally measured for that. Ideally I would like the girls to go no taller than 60cms, but the way Jezi and Danni are going I doubt I've got much chance!!!

... I just saw outside Tesco. None other than my little Star, Enya May. She's looking just great, a credit to Gail and Michael!
I have to admit I had quite a lump in my throat and was overwhelmed by the welcome. But of course though she was really pleased to see us, it gave us both great comfort to see that the little kleptomaniac is very much Gail's baby now. Without doubt as heartbreaking as it was for us at the time we did the right thing by Enya by letting her go. This little lady will want for nothing, all the best with your life Enya, and be good .... cause I'll be watching!

I'm dead chuffed with how Kiri's MOT went tonight. Her Vet Jill Hubbard says she's "physically remarkable" for a 13 year old dog of any breed or type. Her mobility is good, her reflexes excellent and her heart is beating strongly. Sadly it's just her eye sight that's deteriorating. The vets suggests that it compares to looking through frosted glass, she will benefit from strong light and will see movement but otherwise her sight is poor. Still all in all very good news.

Not great photos today I know but I only took the little camera out with me today. I'm gutted the rain has come and washed away my Winter Wonderland. All the dogs came home wet and dirty, some predictably worse than others of course!

I think I'm fairly settled in my walking routine at the moment, taking Ziva with Tali, Louis, Mikey, Asha and Finlay is working well. She's pretty obedient (so far) and doesn't wonder too far from the pack. Kai is very patient with Danni and Jezi and they mostly seem to leave Kiri alone, which is better for everyone. (Ziva tried to play kisses with her - not her most intelligent move) Anyway we'll see how it goes but for now it's working! There are more photos of my walk today on my facebook album .."Everybody's doing it." Hope you like them :)

I think when looking at these photos you need to consider that maybe the best photo in your eyes is not necessarily constructionaly the best puppy, and seeing them on the move is an eye opener. The other thing to consider was that there was only the two of us here, so Steve was taking the photo whilst I stood them and threw toys out in front of them to try and get their ears up. The ground is also very uneven ... finding a "flat bit" in Fron sure isn't easy! Another pair of hands would have been ideal, but as is often the case with me, I want to do it NOW!!!! Anyway hopefully as they approach 6 months we'll get some decent ones but these at least give an idea of what they look like today!

A conversation with a friend today made me re-visit the "other" meanings of the word "Blanik." For me my kennel affix was simply a combination of my two first German Shepherds pet names, Blade and Nikki. I remembered there was a montain in the Czech Republic called Blanik, and there was some connection with airplanes, (but that bored me a bit) Anyway I found this quite interesting and though I'd share it with you.

"Blaník is a mountain in the Czech Republic. Its height is 638 meters above sea level. The surrounding area is a small natural reservation.

Ancient legends are associated with this mountain. The legend says that a huge army of Czech knights led by St. Wenceslas sleeps inside the mountain. The knights will awaken and help the Motherland when she is in great danger. According to legend there will be signs: trees in Blanik wood will get dry, but old dead oak under the mountain will be green again and a small spring by the mountain will become a river. Then during an epic battle between the Czechs and their overwhelming enemy the Blanik knights will come to their aid led by St. Wenceslas on his white horse. The enemy will retreat to Prague where they will finally be defeated.

According to the legend, Good King Wenceslas and his knights will arise from their slumber when the Czechs are attacked by a number of armies equal to or greater than four (from four cardinal directions). In the Jára Cimrman's play "Blaník", it was proved that this legend is not true because in 1968 at the end of the Prague Spring Czechoslovakia was attacked by five armies of the Warsaw pact and "in Blanik not a single leg moved".

Weights and Measures - Again

Well I finally got round to taking the girls to the vets to be weighed. I was very surprised to find that Ziva was the heaviest today at 24.2kg and 56cm at the wither, Jezi was 23.9kg and 58cm, and Danni still the lightest at 23.3kg and 57cm. It proves that the eye can be deceiving as Danni seems far bigger/chunkier and heavier than the other two, and Ziva sure does look the smallest to me. Ah well, we live and learn!! I guess Danni would benefit from eating a little more, but getting two meals a day into her at the moment is hard enough!

Kai's "wife" Tara had a Cesarean this morning. 3 bitch pups sadly all dead. I'm so sad, just gutted for her owner and mostly of course for Tara. With hindsight things could have been done differently but I guess we put our faith in the people who are suppose to be "In The know!!"
3 little lives gone, I'm so sad to have never have had the pleasure of meeting you little ones. Hopefully you are free and playing at the bridge, maybe you were just too precious for this world!

It was wonderful to see Mark, Ro and darling TJ today. She looked lovely and gave us both lots of hugs and kisses. I often do wonder what they remember when they come back here? There has been a bit of discussion between us regarding the puppy's weights and heights recently, anyway I went back through my records and decided to print these ... the girls here now are not far out though at 52 and 53cm they are not as tall as Asha was at the same age. (Thank God-at 61cm she's just over the max height for a bitch!) At her new home Enya was weighed today and was 19.5kg, the same weight as the day she left, Gail said she had been leaving the odd meal, but Gill Hubbard assured her her weight was ideal. I was also pleased that she told Gail she was a lovely and that Enya was full of confidence there.

Enya and Larni are getting on a treat, playing together in and out of the house ... and Larni is even willing to share her toys with Enya. (I gather Enya has taken "Everything" out for a look - no surprises there then!) Though try as hard as Enya does for a cuddle so far Larni refuses to share her bed!!! She's quite at night and clean in the house, as she was here.

Today Steve and I popped over to see Diesel with Sue and Alec in Chwilog. Quite the gangly young man, he'll look amazing when he grows into his hocks and his ears!!! His intelligence was noticeable with the same keen expression as Enya. I guess with that level of intelligence he'll need motivating mentally as well as physically if he is to stay on the straight and narrow. A lot about him reminds me of Kai, if he grows up to be half the dog his grandad is then he'll be an amazing boy to share a life with. I've never been in the position of having to give up a 5 month old puppy before ... and this has ripped us apart. We are both heartbroken, I cried my eyes out in front of the people...but there you go.
I pray this works for Enya because in my heart I still know they can give her more than I can, and if it doesn't they know our door is always open for all our babies. Her happiness is far more important than mine right now, she comes first, so I guess no contest....

Giving her up will be heartbreaking, we can't live with and love an animal for almost 5 months and give her up without feeling emotional pain; but knowing in our hearts that someone else can give her more leaves us with no options. I promise to give them the best that I can in life, and if that means giving them up ... then so be it!

Happy 2012, at least I won't forget where I spent the first few hours of the year ... in the loo, this virus is vile. Ok I promise no more information!!!
Last night Baby Ziva puked all over the sofa. There was no gagging, she cried a little then without warning it just came straight up. Thank god we use throws. Steve took her outside and she puked again. We though it was over and he came in with her. She settled for a while and slept, then puked all over throw number 2....Wonderful!
Obviously miserable she then fell asleep. This morning she was off again, till she puked up a tissue ... she's fine now thank you very much!!!! (wish I could have such a speedy recovery!)

Did we really know George was in such a bad way? I guess the management clamp down on information and the twitters from friends made that apparent to those of us who choose to read between the lines. Though I have to admit I didn't realise he was that bad for that long. I guess Fadi's tweet of "He Speaks" now makes sense.

As ever I found it easier to only talk about my feelings with other fans and Steve as some people including family members always take the piss, and as much as I preach they'll never get it or me!

As I said I'm not ashamed to admit I cried watching the interview .... The snippets on TV were bad enough, but the whole interview now online is heart wrenching to his lovelies! Anyway a twitter text to my mobile from George wishing me/us happy Xmas sure did make my day yesterday and his regular twitter texts to my phone today have left me beaming.

As much as I am now looking forward to the re-scheduled dates for Symphonica, I'll wait as long as it takes to get a healthy George back on stage.
Sadly the situation between Jezi and Ziva has not resolved itself. They have had several spats and it's still obvious to both of us that it would be a foolish and possibly a dangerous mistake to keep both together. Shame, I would love Jezi to be in the ring...but it looks like it's not to be. At the beginning of the year I will have to make a serious effort to find homes for Jezi and dear Enya, now giving her up is going to be heart breaking. Such a delightful young lady, a great character with so much to offer the world .... someone is going to be very lucky to share a life with her!
I have noticed a difference in Kiri the last few weeks .... she's become very old and I guess at almost 13 she's perfectly entitled too, so now without missing out on the enjoyment of living with her I'll start to prepare myself for the inevitable. Still you never know, it's strange that this time last year I didn't think Louis would be here this Xmas and to date my boy is doing well and looking good.
Ok I'm off for a little light relief with Edward Cullen now. A Sexy Vampire .... just what you need to help you through Boxing Day!

On A Shit day

On a day of great sadness in my friends lives and unnecessary deaths at work at least this evening something has managed to lift up my spirits. Though I feel rather guilty for having a smile on my face this evening, god knows I need the distraction. What I saw today was horrendous and I have images in my head that will probably haunt me for a very long time. Something that's far too graphic and hurtful for me to publish on here right now, or maybe even ever. So I hope that when I go to bed tonight I can forget those images and Maybe see "His" face instead!

Just thought I'd share this photo with you of Linda with Lexi and me with Jezi and Ziva taken on Monday. It was nice to catch up but Lin and I knew full well we should have been doing something better with someone far better looking!!!
I had another enquiry about the pups today, the 3rd this week. Nice man, with 2.5acres of land in a rural location. His dogs have the run of the property by day but sleep in kennels at night. Shame really, but I had to say no! These pups are so use to their home comforts I just couldn't do that to them... it just wouldn't be fair, would it?
We are also back in a dilemma, we can't make up our minds which of the pups are staying here long term. I guess my gut feelings about keeping litter sisters together have always been right, more often than not it just doesn't work. I've always preached that I would never sell sisters to anyone, In my opinion it's usually a recipe for disaster....and yes now I'm contemplating doing it myself.

To be honest I really doubt Ziva and Jezi will be able to live together long term, I guess they are too similar and both quite firey. We had quite a serious scrap between them the other night and it took the two of us to split them up. Neither would back down and Jezi ended up with a gash on her face. (Though I hasten to add ... she started it) Neither can I ignore the fact that Danni is Steve's baby, I think it would break his heart to give her up. I can't imagine someone telling me now that I'd have to give up Ziva, well simply I just wouldn't do it! So maybe I need to forget my second "show dog" concentrate on Ziva and let Danni stay at home with her Stevie and be a couch potato she seems to be. Her character is quite different, being more submissive I think there would be a better chance of her getting on with Ziva. Since I also still have my reservations about her legs selling her would be more difficult, here we would know that "if" there is going to be issues she'll get the best of everything we can give her. So my conclusion today is, logically maybe we should try and find a home for Enya and Jezi .... but being honest, being logical can be quite hard sometimes!!!!

All 9 of them blissfully content together ... she may have been very little and her little legs may have been bent back when she was just a Tinie T, but now she's a big strong cuddle bum with bags of personality and charm. Anyway Danni would like you all to know she's pissed off with her sisters now cause there still here and she's even more pissed off that she can only just get her bottom into the washing basket these days!! Thank God Enya is loads better today ... It'll be fish and rice for a few days and back to the vets if she shows any signs of a relapse. I've honestly never seen a puppy look so ill so quickly and then snap out of it so quickly. Coincidentally one of the volunteers at work is a Consultant anesthetist and he was telling me that though intussusception Is very rare it Sometimes does corrects itself, so I'm not ruling anything out. Still what ever it is/was I'm just glad that Enya May is on the mend!

Enya vomited a couple of times late yesterday and again in the night. There was also diarrhea in the puppy enclosure this morning. Though she seemed Ok she didn't eat, not even a piece of toast. Mid morning Steve text me and said she was really flat and shivering. He'd wrapped her in a snuggie and she was asleep on the sofa, she was still there when I got home from work at 1pm..

We saw the vet early this afternoon. Enya was examined and the vet thought she could feel an abnormality in her intestine. She though it necessary to x.ray, but they were inconclusive. Enya had an anti sickness injection and we have to take her back in the morning as she is not yet sure what's going on, but worse case she think it could be intussusception....

(The term intussusception is used to describe a condition in which one segment of the intestine telescopes or invaginates into the lumen of and adjacent segment of intestine) This would need surgery to correct.

I'm so worried about Enya, I honestly feel sick to the pit of my stomach. I can't help it, my glass is always half empty, that's just who I am. But I'm sure you can understand, seeing her like this is heartbreaking. Last night she was running around with her sisters causing mayhem and now she's flat out on the sofa wrapped up in a snuggie and looking really poorly.
Please pray for me that little Enya May is 'gonna be ok!

I Should Have Been At The Echo ...

Yep today is the day I should have been seeing George at The Echo Theatre in Liverpool. Instead I woke-up with a heavy heart and my spirits were lowered further by the articles I should know better than to read! They made it sound as if George's condition has deteriorated saying that his family and friends had been "called to his bedside."I prayed for an official statement from his management, just something to put my/our minds at rest. And would you believe it, finally today it came; but this time not from his management this time the statement came straight from the top, straight from the hospital .......

Further to our previous statement Mr. Michael is being treated here for pneumonia and nothing else.
The latest development in Mr. Michael's case - which has evolved from a severe pneumococcal infection - necessitated intensive care due to its severity and extension. We are happy to announce that Mr Michael is improving steadily with an impressive regression of pneumonic symptoms and follows a steady rate of improvement as hoped.
There are no other health issues with regards to the patient other than the underlying pneumonic disorder, and no further measures had to be taken.
Mr. Michael is receiving precisely the same treatment as any ordinary patient in Austria would receive at the hospital for this disease.
As we said previously, complete rest and peace and quiet are mandatory.

This week ...
Well where do I start? With my darling George I guess. There's all kinds of speculation written about him in the press and I guess my head is a little cabbaged at the moment. Yet again the news is totally inconsistent, he has everything from being in a coma to having a heart condition. Of course the gutter press have also tactfully mentioned Aids in their report, again. Notice I said tactfully, wouldn't be the first time Yog has sued them! Still over the years I have learnt to never believe what I read in a rag or on their Internet sites. I, at least will wait for "official" news.
Ok, I'm gutted, I'm honestly gutted for two reasons. Firstly I'm gutted my idol is ill and I'm worried about him. His health as always, is paramount. Like it or not, George is such an important part of my life, and has been for so long that I feel like a member of my immediate family is in his predicament. My heart goes out to you Georgios.
Secondly a selfish part of me is gutted for me, gutted that this year I'm missing out on my GM fix. I so needed to see him, so needed a break from what is sometimes a mundane existence. I really needed to get away and loose myself in Yog World, If only for a day or two I needed it. I guess I'm tired, hell I've not had a holiday since 1995 ... Oh No, don't feel sorry for me, I have a lovely husband and It's my choice to have so many animal. I wouldn't have it any other way, but sometimes we all need something else to focus on, we all need our escapism.
George my lovely, Get Well soon ... We will be waiting.

We had a couple of calls about the pups this week. One lady really impressed me, and I actually thought, yeah, I'll sell you one of my precious girls. I spent sometime talking to her and leading her through the website and Tali's Tails. I was impressed and happy and thought Enya would be the ideal pup for her situation. I even got as far as organised a friend in her area to do a home visit. To come home from work the next day and find an e.mail from her saying she realised we are too far was very upsetting. Anyway her loss .... Enya is a star and I'd travel to the end of this earth for her!
Talking of Enya May I had to take her to the vets this week, she had a lump the size of an egg on her head. It was enormous, though didn't seem to bother her. The vet diagnosed that she had hit the crown on her head, probably during rough and tumble with her sisters. It may take weeks to go down completely, but no harm done! He also diagnosed that that the spots on her belly is teenage acne which will eventually go away.

I also took Danni for a check up. As I'm sure most of you know Danni's legs were badly bent when she was born, this was due to being so small and being squashed in the uterus by her larger siblings. I suppose naturally she would not have survived as she could not get herself about to feed. But we made sure she got her share and she's here to tell the tale today. As she strengthened her legs straightened and seemed normal by the time she was up and about. (about 2 weeks old) Anyway she now has huge bone and has recently developed a very untidy gait. The vet suggested that her only problem is looseness of joints and ligaments ... Though obviously no guarantees it looks like there is nothing to worry about. (But I still will!)
Jezi is living up to her name ... Truly a witchy poo puppy....Guess I best say no more incase she puts a spell on me!
Ziva is the apple of my eye, though I'm upset that a catalogue of events at ring craft seem to have affected her temperament. This is a very vulnerable age and sadly Ziva seems to have blow everything out of proportion. I know Cesar Milan says to "live for the now," but sadly bad experiences at this age can affect the character of a puppy. I've never had to deal with a nervous puppy before and I'm really finding it quite disheartening. Hell I know what to do, I've told hundreds over 20 odd years of instructing but I guess it's different when it's you and yours. Over 20 years of owning this breed and this is a new ball game for me. Still whatever happens, baby Ziva is here with me to stay.

I had a phone call from a lady early in the year wanting to use one of the boys at stud. Sadly the bitch wasn't hip score and I declined. Anyway the lady rang me back months later and said the bitch, Tara, had had her hips done and had a total score of 9. She was well bred, actually going back to our Dexi through her bitch line, we agreed she would use Mikey on the bitch. When Kiri and Louis leave us then Dexi will no longer be in a pedigree in this house as my line has continued on from his sister Seffe so I was very interested in this mating going ahead. Of course at that time little did i think I would have 4 little girls of my own here now.

Anyway Tara came to visit Mikey several times last week and they got on really well, but sadly, I guess due to his inexperience Mikey was not able to mate her. Luckily Mikey is not the only health tested male in the house so it was Kai to the rescue! The older boy had no problems with taking over the job and showing the youngster just how it's done!!!! So hopefully there will be a baby "Nico" joining our family next year ... Even if he has got a different father to the one in my plans!!!!
Hopefully I'll have a photo of Tara to share with you shortly and watch this space for news.....

It’s with great sadness that GeorgeMichael.com must announce the postponement of the remaining dates on the Symphonica tour due to George’s on-going battle with pneumonia.
While George is receiving excellent medical care and is responding to treatment and slowly improving, to ensure his complete well-being, George’s doctors have advised that he cannot perform the rest of his Symphonica tour and that he instead takes a full and complete rest.
Prof. Dr. Christoph Zielinski, Chairman, Department of Medicine General Hospital - Medical University Vienna, Austria and Prof. Dr. Thomas Staudinger, Specialist in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine have stated the following:
"George Michael has severe community acquired pneumonia and is being treated as an inpatient. His condition has stabilized and he is responding to treatment. From the current point of view, the time until recovery cannot be estimated, but he will not be able to perform the rest of the tour. Besides medical treatment, complete rest and peace and quiet are mandatory."
As a result, all of the UK dates of the Symphonica European tour will be postponed. George was very much looking forward to bringing his tour back home and performing for his loyal and dedicated UK fan base.
Discussions and preparations are currently under way in order to arrange the rescheduled dates and further announcements will be made at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, tickets holders are asked to retain their tickets

Sometimes it all gets to be too much. Sometimes the tears flow and the mood is low but no one thing can really take blame. Sometimes when all the chocolate has been devoured and still the mood has not improved, sometimes there's no way out except you......
Sometimes I feels pathetically sorry for myself and my life, sometimes this is simply not enough and I wish for more, sometimes I hates everything about myself and my inadequacies, sometimes there's no way out except you.....
Sometimes it feels like every one's out to get me. Sometimes the dogs just drive me insane. Sometimes I cry because laughing is just too hard and sometimes their humor just sadness me. Sometimes there's no way out except you ...... sometimes, yeah sometimes, sometimes was today!

Steve Celebrating that Danni's not leaving home ... yet!

Yesterday we had a nice lady on the phone asking about Danni. She had followed her with interest on forums and finally couldn't resist her charm. She was very excited when I said Danni was still available for sale and said she would love to have her. All well and good, but to be honest my heart sank, at 12 weeks they have become part of our "Family!" Sensibly Danni and Enya need homes, someone else can give them more and that's what I want for them, they deserve "it all!"
This lady has a 9 month old male GSD, a Tirgram Tim son. I told her that therefore she would need to make sure they never mated as Tim and Robbi (Danni's dad) are half brothers. Initially she said no problem, but later rang to tell me that having discussed it with her husband they decided they could not out rule breeding .... so by mutual agreement we decided Danni would not be going!
So are Danni and Enya still for sale? Yes of course they are, keeping 4 would just be ludicrous, but until the home/time is right then the little one's, like Ziva and Jezi will get all we can give them....even if it kills us in the process...lol!

Little Jezi has given us a scare this last week. The pups are now 12 weeks and Jezi was screaming in pain with her front left leg last Thursday. I was at work, Steve panic and took her to the vet, they found nothing wrong with her and she soon came round. Yesterday when I was out walking Steve phoned me, again saying that Jezi was screaming in pain with her leg. I got home to see her on the sofa feeling very sorry for herself. We put her on the floor and realised she's limping on the front right. We've examined her toes and joints, no reaction, but when I squeezed the back of the long bone she screamed.So now I'm think could it be Panostitis, though she is a little young for it.
I've only had one experince of the condition in the past. Lia had it in 1997 .... I remember feeling so sad for her they are in so much pain with it. and now poor Jezi is crying on the sofa!
"Panosteitis, or Pano as it is commonly called, is a disease which affects the long bones in growing young dogs, mostly of the larger breeds, but occasionally is seen in some smaller breeds as well. German Shepherds are one of the breeds who are often presented with lameness and limb pain between 5 and 18 months of age, and many veterinarians diagnose Pano as it's cause.
The first signs of Pano are often a slight lameness in one leg, progressing to a severe limp and possibly non-use of the affected leg. It may last for days to weeks, and may seem to resolve then recur in the same leg, or another one. Some dogs can exhibit lameness in more than one, or even all legs at the same time. Often Pano shows up in a foreleg first. Bouts of lameness can come and go, seemingly for months. Some dogs suffer from Pano off and on until they are nearing 2 years of age or even beyond.. Most cases start near the end of rapid growth, about 5 to 6 months of age, and are cleared up by 12 to 18 months of age. Males seem to be more affected than females, but both sexes can exhibit signs.
Radiographic signs, those seen on an x-ray, can be elusive when diagnosing Pano. The bones most affected are the radius and ulna (the foreleg), the humerus (upper arm), the femur (thigh) and the tibia (lower rear leg). Pano is an inflammation of the bone itself, the cortex (outer shell) becomes less distinct and foggy, and the interior of the bone seems to increase in density. Pano lesions are not always seen on an X-ray even though the dog may be showing clinical signs of lameness and pain."

No Doubts He Stands Better With A Handler

I'm having a tearful day. With the loss of Emi I'm having a sad week so I guess I'm over sensitive at the moment, but today it does feel like it's get at me day.
The write up for Flint and Deeside appeared in the paper, it described Kai as a lovely, masculine dog who could have done better with a handler instead of the owner,going on to say that better handled he may have taken BOB... Well I guess that was me told! But let's face it with only 3 GSD kennels supporting the show there wasn't exactly a choice of handlers, so surely she could understand that dog's being handled by the owners will not be on "their toes" in the ring! But Surely the best dog on the day is still the best dog on the day!
Yesterday I put photo's of the pups on here and on facebook, whilst Jezi did get a couple of Comments, when I looked today no one had bothered to comment on Ziva. (with very few "likes") Oh yes I'm being over sensitive, I know that, but on a lower moment it really hurt.... these 2 are my babies and I love them both equally! But I think what's making me stew about it more than anything is that people/friends just don't bother to comment when I always make the effort to comment on their pics .. even if I don't care for the photo I try and see a positive and say something nice!

RAH .... I Could Only Dream

Last night a lot of my friends went to see George at the RAH. A few phoned and text, it was a lovely thought to keep me in the loop .... but I got upset about that too. More than anything I'd have loved to have been there sharing the magic with my mates last night, it was a very special "George" night and I missed it! Gutted!

Emi With Blade in 1996

Born into this house of Madness, Emi was Jasmin's only surviving kitten. Knowing what I know now she would never have been born...so my God I'm glad I was just a little less knowledgeable back then. Having given her everything I could, Emi still grew up to be quite an aloof individual, often away from home for as long as 48 hrs in the Summer. With us Emi could also be very affectionate and loving, though she was always wary of strangers. Her "voice" in this house was unmistakable. She had the same deep meow as her mother had had previously, I guess she inherited the Persian cats cry.
To be honest, Emi never really cared for the dogs so rarely came into the living room, choosing instead to sleep alone or with Lux in the utility room in her igloo. But as soon as the Sun shone and she had her brekkie she was off on her travels.

Emi - Quite The Old Lady

I guess sometimes you don't see them getting older and until this year Emi lived her own life her own way. As long as she had a meal and a bed she was happy. But this year something did change. The first thing I noticed was that she stopped going out in the Winter... but I though "when Summer comes she'll be off!" But she didn't. Old age creeping up and the once wondering Emi became a house cat.
Over the last month Emi barely ate a thing. Following blood tests she had a dental, but it made no difference. At the beginning of this week she had steroids, antibiotics and Vit b12 injections, followed yesterday by oral b12 .... it made no difference, Emi refused to eat and was wasting away in front of our eyes. The vet reckoned there was something sinister going on and at her age we decided not to put her through the stress of further tests .....It was time to say goodbye and I hope Emi felt comfort from my arms around her as she fell asleep forever.

It was so great to see Diesel at dog club tonight. The little man looks well and was quite the star. Damn shame I didn't remember to take the camera ..the quality of the photo's not good with the phone!
Steve and I took Danni and Enya to dog club. The coped well, and Enya took it all in her stride. Danni was initially a little bothered with the other dogs, but she soon got over it! Along with Diesel both girls did some socialising and a recall off the lead .... the magic of a sweetie box eh!

Thanks to Eric for the updated photos of Pepsi ... she's looking just lovely and growing well, I'm not suprised to hear she's still the biggest of the litter, weighing 8.2 kg at 10 weeks old.

Enya, Jezi, Ziva and Danni

The "Ladies" after their trip out to Pets At Home today. It was a pretty successful day out showing us obvious differences in their personalities. In fairness it was a lot for them to deal with as they also had to wear a collar and lead for the first time and Enya, more than anyone hated that.
Jezi was very confident from the start. Almost like she's done it all before, she truly took the experience in her stride. Ziva and Danni were a little more apprehensive, but only of the initially situation and quickly grew to love all the attention they were getting. Enya wasn't bothered by the situation either .... just the lead. All in all, very proud of the girls and how they handled it all!

My name is Jezi Baba - but Jezi will do!
"Ježibaba is a mythological figure, appearing in operas such as Dvořák's Rusalka and in movies such as Miyazaki's Spirited Away. She is a forest witch and friend of the devil. A famous Witch from Eastern Europe, she has the appearance of a peasant women and travels through the air on a pestle and mortar with a fiery broom. She has teeth of stone or knives and lives in a house that moves on chicken legs. Her house is surrounded by a bone like fence with skulls on top which shine light through their sockets. The house is situated between this world and the Otherworld. Jezi Baba can be very cruel and those who visit her may die. Sometimes she manifests her mouth as a cave and devours travellers who wander in. She maintains good order and punishes those who misbehave. She is good to women and others who seek her help giving them useful items for their quests. She creates such items with her pestle and mortar and cauldron of body parts. To those who fear her house and objects appear gruesome but to others who understand her true function, such things are quite pleasant. The fire-breathing Dragon, Chudo-Yudo lives with her as her pet that guards the Water of Life and Death. In earlier stories she is the divinity of life and death and is surrounded by herds and horses where she holds the reins of the four seasons and controls harvests and rain flow."

Now they've both got names we can live with, just incase! Danni is one of my favourite names for a female, but previously I've chosen not to use it as Seffe and Dexi's brother was called Danny and I thought it may cause confusion! I'm still hopeful that they will find the right home. Keeping them here long term would really not be wise or fair on them or us! Sometimes we all have to realise that someone else can give them more than we can ... I guess sensibly, less is more!
